So I picked up 2 white belts for my costume off of Amazon. I planned on using 1 for mine and one for my fiancé’s. Well my belt doesn’t quite reach. I saw that you can link 2 of them together so I tried that. The problem is that even on the smallest notches they’re too big when linked together. I have a feeling that as soon as i put anything on it, its going to fall off. It barely stays on empty. Anyone else have this problem or know of any tricks to fix it?
I too, needed to link the belts. However Im also handy with a needle and thread so I chopped one male side from one belt and the female side off the other. Then sewed the two chopped ends together, after I made sure it was still properly laced and would be functional.
I’ve been using it that way for about 3-4 years now. The only bad part is that when I did it I didn’t really think about size as much as function so I ended up with a belt that’s about 7-8’ long and has to be doubled over almost in half.
It’s really a non issue but it’s kind of funny when I take it apart to adjust the fit and remember how huge it is.
It seems a shame to use a whole belt for an extra 2 or 3 inches, but yeah that sounds like what I’ll have to do. I’ll have to take another look at em tonight. Thanks for the idea.
Yeah I hated to buy the second one for the same 2-3" but buckling the thing with out that was like cutting me in half. It’s one of those things where you hate to do it before, but never really think about it after its done.
Just to check, are you trying it on with your suit and gear or in your regular clothes?
I know the last time I suited up with a fully loaded belt, I wound up having to let my belt out a little…?
I was just trying it on over regular clothes. I haven’t made my gizmo holder or key fobs yet. Maybe I’ll wait and try it on again after. I hadn’t really thought of that.
