Possible late pass??? (Dan Aykroyd's dad content)

I ripped this from Cracked.com

I know its old news that Dan was a paranormal researcher. I have never read anyplace about his dad writing a book about “ghostbusters”. That’s pretty awesome.

I bought it last year. It’s in my stack awaiting to be read.

I bought a copy for a friend awhile back and will be getting myself one soon. I look forward to giving it a read.

Holy Hell! That’s it im buying the book the universe is telling me so.

I saw that article as well and my eyes got huge. I never knew Dan had a family history in the paranormal.

That is so awesome.

another reason why Dan is my hero

I bought if when it first came out. It was an excellent read. A neat glimpse into the history of the Aykroyd and their connection to the paranormal if anything.

Added to my amazon list for like $.15. Heres hoping i get it as a Christmas gift.

Stupid “no buying yourself anything before Christmas” rule.

what? why not? its 15 cents!

If that be the case I need to take back my paranormal books, the cartoon cels off ebay and the skull hair chips I just gave myself.

how about this, get it and give it to yourself at christmas then your not breaking the rules.

Looks like the word got out. The price jumped from $.15 to over $3!!!

haha still super cheap, cant wait to get it.

I ordered mine and it wont come until christmas. :whatever:

oh well

I had the pleasure of actually talking to Dan about the book when it first came out. It is a great read for anyone actually interested in the paranormal. Not only does it go in the Aykroyd’s personal history in relation to the paranormal, but the the history of the scientific study of the supernatural. It is an incredible book and I recommend it to any Ghostbuster fan. There are a few sections where they specifically talk about the movie and why he wrote it.

very cool Dr.D. I dont think I could ever talk to dan. I think I would get the deer in the head lights syndrome and have a geek moment, horribly embracing myself and anyone around me.

I can only imagion the stuff he could talk about growing up.

I actually lucked out enough to get a signed copy given to me directly from Dan Aykroyd, himself. He signed it “Merry Christmas! Dan Aykroyd” (it was last November). I wasn’t even expecting it. He gave me a copy that he had on him. One of the greatest GB moments of my life, I must say. He and I chatted about the book, his great grandfather, parapsychology, ASPR, and the like for awhile too. It was a great experience that I’ll never forgot.

I was shaking like a twig in the wind. It was honestly the greatest experience of my life. He was such a humble human being and was incredibly easy to talk to. The greatest compliment I have every received was him commenting on my knowledge of the supernatural, of which he said “you really know your stuff”. Now, at first it seems like just a nice little comment, but hearing from the mouth of my idol over the phone made me almost lose it. Ray Stantz complimented my knowledge about the paranormal. I wish everyone can have an experience like this in their life.

wow to both of you for meeting Dan. If I ever get the chance I want to talk to him and get the book signed.

Dr.D how did you get an interview with Dan?

These are really great stories. I actually read a bit of the book myself and it was great. It’s been a recent dream of mine to someday meet Dan Aykroyd in person. I hope it comes true.

I want a copy but I hate hardcover books and I can’t seem to find it in soft cover! Was it ever released as a soft cover?

I really want to read this book  I agree with Foote, it would probably wait in a pile for awhile to be read. Too many books, so little time.

I’ve only seen it in Hardcover, for Kindle, or in Audio. I think Amazon still has all 3 formats for sale.

I found this really interested in the book. The sedgewicks where real people that helped fund and found the society of psychic research around the turn of the last century. Mr. Sedgewick and his wife went around to a ton of mediums to find proof of ghosts. I wonder in Dan put the name in the movie as a tribute?

I would say most definitely, he did.
