I’m still in the early stages of planning and getting the parts together to build my first pack - and I’ve been thinking about the lighting circuits more.
I’ve come across this site: http://www.knightlight.co.uk/pr-ks3016.asp which sells 16 LED sweeper lights designed for a PC to run off 5V, how difficult do you think it would be to modify this to run off a small battery pack?
Also, is it feasable to run both the cyclotron and powercell lights of the same battery pack to avoid having two entiely seperate circuits?

This kit has been brought up before and you shouldn’t have much of a problem getting it to run off a battery pack… I have no idea of the design but it might run off 4.5 volts and that will save you some hassle in making a battery pack… If it needs a set 5 volts then you will probably need to use a voltage regulator and a higher voltage battery pack…
But, as before when someone brought up this kit I have to suggest if you are going to spend that much you might want to consider spending just a bit more on my kit that is $85 and is the correct pattern and includes the cyclotron lights as well as a battery pack all ready to go simply add batteries…
a shamless plug lol. only kidding. I agree though, if your gonna do it right, I think that a hyperdyne or exoray kit is your best solution. As soon as halloween is done and I get somemore money my way, I am definatly gonna test the waters for exoray’s kit. from what I have seen, its nothing short of amazing
