I just got in my new PKE Meter from Matty.com (I bought it from a friend on the RPF since they were sold out). I was really excited about posting photos of my prop!
So I go to my Prop section, and I find a link that says:
“DO NOT UPLOAD PHOTOS OF YOUR STOCK MATTEL PKE METER. ONLY POST PICTURES IF YOU HAVE CHANGED IT SIGNIFIGANTLY. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN YOUR PICTURES BEING DELETED.”
My question is this. Why can’t I post photos of the prop I have in my collection? I got the Gold Membership, paid 50$ dollars for it. No biggie, it was my pleasure to do so. Now I find I can’t post a photo and that it will be deleted and “possible banning.”
Is there a legitimate reason we can’t upload photos of our props? I was really excited to get my Props photos going and now…
Just thought I would ask the reason for this rule.
Thanks!

PS: I’m not trying to start a flame war here. I’m just asking a question hoping that maybe this will change, or I’ll understand the valid reason for the rule.

what did you do to your pke that makes it special from the other 10+ thousand? that whole section is being abused by people uploading pictures of their toys. it’s for something YOU CREATED. buying something, is not creating it. a collection of toys, isnt something you’ve built.
custom pkes? go for it. a matty pke that you significantlyconverted to a movie replica? sure ok. but if it’s stock, it’s no different from the 1 infront of me, and the 5 in my closet. we/i know what it looks like.
rule’s valid. i hope they clean out that section soon.
Ah! So the props section is for CUSTOM builds! Okay, that makes more sense to me now.
even your own scratch built proton packs.
I’m not doing the scratch built prop thing, but I AM getting with Vince and Nick and getting their parts to create mine. It’s fun, and I’m enjoying all the research!
This would be fine to put up. It’s mostly to prevent a flood of mass manufactured toys from being posted when most of us have one in front of us that is completely indistinguishable from the others.
Now, if you wanted to use it as part of your uniform and post it that way, that would probably be fine too.
I’d have to use some kind of a loop hole to attach it to my uniform? Looping some kind of strap, or something…
Or do what most of us have done and buy one of these: Holster for Mattel PKE Meter - PKE Meters - GBFans.com
Very nice! That’s exactly the kind of loop hole I’ll need to use! Thanks for posting the link.
I can identify with that! I’ve always felt like there was a little kid inside me! Or that I’m a big kid!
