Hey guys Im a newb to the forums and I would appreciate any help you could give me. I am currently working on a fan made mini series for GB and was wondering what types of materials i should use to mock up some proto-types of packs and other gear with out having to spend alot of cash. Ive had people say to build scaled down versions of them with plasticard? Is this a reasonable approach to this or not? Any help would greatly help! Thanks.
I supose cardboard would work, but I’m still in the development stage so I couldn’t offer better ideas.

Right now I’m working on a PKE meter, I have a pair of gogles based off Norm’s plans that just need to be painted, and I’m trying to accuire enough parts to start work on a pack.
I’m just starting my own pack, but I plan on making it as cool as possible, with lights and possibly sounds too…but I don’t know much so I can only offer what i’ve learned so far!! I have found that foamboard works REALLY well to mock up the pack before using anything heavy like styrene or whatever…in fact, you could build the whole pack out of foambard and just coat a few times with paint or whatever, or maybe even Plasti-Dip would work, which from what I know leaves a pretty thick layer of plastic on whatever, and you could dip it a few times to make it nice and thick… i’m sure you could sand the plastic after it’s dried to make it look “rougher” anyways, experimentation is the name of the game, but FUN and experience are the true results!!! well im almost done with the Proton pack sketch.. I decided to make it look less kit bashed and more like it was later manufactured safely and efficiently. I should have it posted soon. Ill keep you up to date.
