Proton Pack Making

Ugh >.< I told you I DON’T Undertsand it. I feel pretty dang insulted too. All I ask for is an easy way to my a proton pack for a cheap price that I can understand…

Sorry, but that is the easiest plans we have here.

If you can’t follow them…try this one

If I was insulting you, I would let you know. Maybe tell you to let your mom or lil brother do it for you. Now that would be an insult. But as I said…not trying to insult

You’re trying to turn someone away from the hobby just because he’s too young to make a completely accurate pack. Go somewhere else with that bullshit.

95, see if you can get your dad to look over the various plans and such with you, I’m sure he’d be able to help you out. They do seem daunting at first; it took me a little while to grasp Stefan’s plans, but it’s doable. You just have to think.

Not to be a ■■■■■ and like totally turn it away, but I saw it and it just doesn’t look like I want it to be. I mean I can easily do somethign that is cheap and has easy steps, but I want it to look like your guys’s.

As far as the backpack goes, is it an old one that you can take apart, or do you want to keep it in one piece?

I have an idea which would keep it in one piece, but you might get sticky residue on it.

Here’s the idea:

Unclip the clip between the two straps. Now pull the straps around to the front side. The back is now the front and vice versa, and the back is flat like the motherboard and easier to mount things to.

Now you can probably tape your cake pan and other stuff to that with duct tape or gorilla tape. Or glue it if you don’t care if you ruin the pack. Though I know those backpacks aren’t cheap, so unless you’re getting a new one this year I don’t know if I’d want to destroy it.

If you don’t want to destroy the backpack, or it’s uncomfortable to wear inside out, you’ll need to be more creative in how you attach anything to it. The only thing I can think of to attach it without damaging the pack is is to take a piece of black cardboard and press the pack flat with it, and then poke holes in it and use string to tie it to the pack at the top and bottom, and then attack stuff to that, or put the pack inside a box, and cut holes for the straps to come out of. Remember those fedex boxes I mentioned? Well you could probably fit the pack in one of those and get the straps to come out of the holes.

Not the best ideas, but it’s a tough thing making a proton pack on a budget with no plans and no materials and no money.

And don’t let Zander get you down. He’s moody.

I said myself, before you butted in, that my son, who is younger, made one from the plans I posted…without my help.

Age has nothing to do with it.

GhostGuy: I AM NOT MOODY! . . .Just haven’t had my suger intake for the day. . . . .

I couldn’t care less about your son. This kid wants to build a pack and needs some help to do it. Who are you to tell him he can’t do it?

Lol i have money, its just that its off my mom. As you know since you were my age once, my mom is not gonna give me 100$ to spend on something I’m not gonna be wearing most of the time. Maybe 30$ she would accept to. Dan’s idea is great and it looks like a proton pack, I’ll try all these. i do have a new backpack, plus I have a small swimming backpack that I can ruin and all.

and like I said, I don’t undertsand the plans…I really don’t mean to be ■■■■■ its just kidn of irritating when all i ask if for easy stuff like dan and ghost kindly gave to me and I have to repeat myself that I don’t undertsand those a thousand times..

He said he can’t do it. I have showed him the easiest plans we have, showed him the dollor store pack, and even showed him a cheap/stronge mat to use to make it.

GB95: Just go with the dollor store pack I linked before…I looks good and should get you some good candy on halloween or something

Well, I don’t want to discourage you, but I think you need to keep your expectations realistic. You don’t have any money, it sounds like you don’t have a lot of time to build it, you’re not good at following plans, and you won’t be able to wear something that’s really heavy. That’s a lot of restrictions you’ve placed upon yourself.

If you wanted to make a light pack, but had a couple hundred bucks and a lot of time and could follow plans, I’d suggest you look at norm’s plans and make one out of foam. But that takes some artistry.

That pack I posted above fooled adults and won $125 in a costume contest, so you really don’t need to make something super accurate. Also, the accurate packs you see here probably took about three weeks to build and cost anywhere from $200-$1000.

So if I were you, I’d just try to get the basic shape down. Round thing on the bottom, some kind of bumper, some red wires, a hose or two, some kind of gun on a hose, some neat looking boxes on top, and mount it on your backpack. Oh and don’t forget lights. Find some kind of blinking light. It doesn’t have to be accurate, but it will make all the difference in the world if it lights up.

Someone’s been casting a spell of disharmony +5.

Tut tut.

and rolled a 20 when casting it

He said he can’t understand the plans. You’re being a straight up ■■■■■■■. Don’t you have some magic spells to cast?

95, the proton pack is, in the words of Zack, essentially a giant puzzle. It has a bunch of boxes that go together in some way or another; the tricky part is just assembling them. If you have a parent or older friend that can help you understand it, that’d be your best option.

go hang from a cross

Did I strike a nerve?

Yeah, but I WOULD like a light up one, but its not a need. i just want a proton pack,

■■■■ off bible thumper

Uh, that was a ■■■■■ comment. Maybe unlike YOU, but I actually believe in god…

There’s so many people I’d like to thank for this moment.
