Proton Pack Theories

Anyone here ever make their own Proton Pack theory to just make up or explain to people who ask?

I created one that was basically this:

The Cyclotron at the bottom activates each nuclear carbon rod and accelerates the particles to be shot out of the gun to deteriorate and capture the ghost. The system, being very hot, is cooled by liquid nitrogen, which is a lot easier to use then water (which is also very heavy). The nitrogen is kept running by taking moisture from the air into the N-filter and converting that into liquid nitrogen. This means that the cyclotron also powers the cooling system as well. If the cyclotron ever fails to produce power to the cooling, a pack up crank on the top of the pack can be started to move a generator and keep that running to keep the cooling working until it can be fixed. The power cell shows how well the particles are being accelerated, and the HGA is used during battery use to keep the battery running at optimal power by reducing any gases collected and are then vented through the pack after battery use is done.

Anyone got their own?

Nice theory. Never heard of the liquid nitrogen cooling concept… wouldn’t they need to replenish that after periods of use?

This one’s been around for awhile:

I think it’s all PFM. Pure Fu**ing Magic  Like the flux capacitor. Just let it be.

Well, after a long period of time, kind of like re-charging air conditioning in a car. Besides doing that periodically, the moisture system would easily let it replenish.

Also, very interesting article there. Seems someone really knows there with quantum physics.

I believe it’s magic!

I wonder if they’ll have to retrofit it to R-134a, since they were still using R-12 in 1989…

I’m another one of those nerds who can’t help but wonder how sci-fi tech works. Here’s my own version:

Warning: The following analysis has weak basis in pseudo-scientific fact. In other words: It’s magic. This description contains no fissible material, but if you’d like, the plasma can be generated by exposure to a radioactive source.

Slush deuterium is injected into an internal pressurized reservoir via the external fill plug. Upon initial activation, the power cell provides the necessary energy to charge the high-voltage capacitors located in the booster which provide the required current to operate the magnetic acceleration coils of the cyclotron and the proton stream generator. Deuterium flow is controlled primarily via the Hydrogen Gas Actuator, which injects the gas into the synchronous generator, and via an external flow-control valve (Clippard). The deuterium gas is then circulated through a vacuum chamber containing a series of high-voltage electric arcs which excite the deuterium into positively-charged plasma. The resulting plasma is magnetically separated into streams of negatively-charged electrons, which are fed back into the synchronous generator and used to generate current supplemental to that provided by the powercell, and positively-charged protons, which are injected into the cyclotron, where they are accelerated via magnetic fields to near-light speed to increase their energetic potential. The high-energy, positively-charged proton stream is directed down a flexible magnetic conduit into the “neutrona” wand, where additional magnetic constrictors serve to focus the particles into a coherent, semi-controlled stream.

…

I now find myself pondering a proton pack field maintenance manual.

so no one can say “its technical.” ?

your all wrong, it was explained in the movie, dunno how anyone could miss it

The proton pack its just an elabrate tank filled with a sense and nerve gas that it vented out to make people halucinate and think they are seeing ghosts, the proton gun is equipped with a series of electronics and lazer lighting to produce a fake electric light show

Lol.

I always thought the N-filter was the part that collected Nutrons from the cyclotron to be emitted from the Nutrono wand.
