PS2 Glitches...

So far since 12:02 pm on the 16th, I have resetted the game 5 times due to freezing. I’ve had to do it twice in the cemetery level

I had to restart 3 times… After the 3rd time I cleaned my PS2 and then let the game play on it’s own for about 5 minutes… I played for about 90 more minutes before I went to bed… No glitches or freezing…

I played it last night for 2.5 hours with no glitches at all!!

On mine sometimes they talk without mouths moving, the game ALSO freezes and I have to restart.

The worst is at the bootup video, there are wavy lines thru most of it.

Lots of freezing at certain points, subtitles not timmed with when they’re talking, gets alil pixalated and graphically bad in some cutscenes. no voices at all or just takes awhile to hear them, and the occasional lock up or freeze durring loading. Then again I’m playing on the old PS2 when they were first released not a slim or newer model. Might just be the system itself rather than the game in some cases

My disk: the lips don’t synch with the voices sometimes or they don’t move at all, the cut scenes quality at the beginning of the game are utter rubbish, sometimes when the firehouse hub loads it shows the characters in a grey screen then the skins for the level load(this also happened twice on two in game levels). I’ve only had to restart my PS2 twice due to freezing and I’m not sure if its intentional but the lock-on enemies function doesn’t work unless you hold down the circle button.

I had problems with freezing and glitching up as well. and it gets choppy during gameplay. I have the newer slim PS2.

Okay, kinda take back what I said about the system. It’s the game itself sadly. Been testing out all my other games new and old and they all work perfectly fine, even the old psOne games. It’s either they did a rush job at porting it to this system or never bothered to test it at all claiming that “it’s the same as the wii” will be enough of a tag line for people to buy it

Well I’m glad to know its not just me running into this problem, but at the same time I was hoping it was something I could possibly fix by exchanging the game for a new copy. Oh well, I’ve found that if you take frequent breaks (which is suggested in all game console manuals) it keeps from running into the freezing part of the glitches. Mouths not moving and other glitches I can live with until I’m able to get a newer platform, but I hate when it freezes before I get a chance to save.

i played for about 12 hours and had it either lockup, have no sound or completely freeze and start buzzing about 6 times.

Yeah, I’m writing to the company about the freezing. It’s bull. I had to reboot a few dozen combined times by now.

My copy does all of the above as well :sigh: …

Cheers.

I officially just gave the title up for dead due to constant freeze / load problems in the spiderwitch level; I have a newer PS2 slim model with less than 100 hours total play time on the machine. It’s a shame too cause I was having fun with the game so far.

I was having a ton of glitches with my Ps2 game too. Then I set my Ps2 up on a SDTV (normal TV, not HD,LCD,PLASMA etc.) as well as put the original scart lead in instead of a component one and it hasn’t had the problems it had before. Well it’s frozen once in a few days.

Don’t know if this’ll help anyone else.

Had the same problems as listed above plus mine would continually pop up a “Please ever so kindly insert a Dual Shock 2 controller into Port 1, please oh please oh please,” especially during cutscenes. Now, I do have a third party controller I’ve used for years (not a huge gamer anymore…I mean, I’m still on PS2) but it’s never been a problem and I even retested it on several games: no problems with either the system or the controller. Sooo…I returned the game. I’ll prolly pick up a used copy someday but that untested monstrosity ain’t worth $20.

Mine freezes real bad after defeating the cherrubs in the graveyard/park level. So far I am at a standstill with the game as I haven’t made it past this point yet (I have attempted it 4 times so far). Otherwise there have been a few hiccups but in the past it happened just after the save point (thankfully) and the screen just would stay dark untill reboot. OH, Also, I lost audio during one of the theatrical deals early in the game.

I don’t have the game yet myself, but I wanted to know if anyone playing the ps2 version on a backwards compatible PS3 was experiencing the constant freezing glich…

I eventually want to get the PS2 and PS3 version of the game because of the slight differences between the two.
