Just picked up July 09 edition of PSM3 mag in the UK and they have given the game 85/100
Verdict:
Overall too short, but packed with quality and imagination.
Can’t wait till the 19th!!

this whole “too short” issue is obviously going to cause a stir around here, because it seems NO one is ever satisfied with anything ghostbusters related.
lets look at it this way
the game looks incredible, theres going to be so many awesome little hidden tidbits around the firehall for us to stumble upon.
there is CONSTANT talk during the game, which is great, because its voice we know and love.
the cut scenes are going to be fantastic
aaaaaaaaaaaaaand… achievements / trophies
thats one of the best things is getting thoes things, whatever they may be, dont settle till you have 1000/1000
also multiplayer
there is no reason anyone should be complaining about this.
fucking 19th
i need to wake my wate mate…
As Ghostbusters fans no one will care, as gamers they will be dissappointed.
Good point rusty!
To me, when they say it’s “too short”… that’s a good sign… Well, to a certain degree… To me if they say it was “too short” I interpret that as it meaning that it is a great game and they wish there was more. (which could be a good sign that a sequel of some sort could be possible… ) I’m sure if you play the game on higher difficulty levels it’ll last a bit longer. One review stated the game was a good 8 hours long. 8 hours seems like a decent amount of time for a playable movie. I’m sure we’ll all finish the game and say “I wish that were longer!” but honestly… 8 hours of play is a pretty good amount of time. Plus you could always go back and replay to unlock all achievements/trophies and then you have multiplayer on top of that.
Anyway, I don’t think people should be worrying about length of time. You can always go back to it and play it again and again. Just like nearly even one of us here has watched GB1 & 2 on dvd over and over again… And those combined are only about 3 hours worth of entertainment. We’re getting a 5-10 hour INTERACTIVE Ghostbusters experience that is getting great reviews so far… I don’t think anyone should be complaining about length of time.
fucking a dude.
the game is too short when you just play through it. if you are playing it to get all achievments/trophies and all the extra stuff thats in it, then the game may take much longer. like i said in another thread. if your worried about the game being to short then just play the game on the hardest dificulty.
Difficulty isn’t a tool to extend gameplay time. It’s there to allow players with differing levels of skill to get the challenge they want.
The length isn’t a major downer, but it is a negative in an otherwise great game by the look of it.
too true, i kn ow will be trophy hunting during the game and that’ll probably increase the length of the game a bit
boy… do i have to agree with your statement. But then again, This games for Fans of ghostbusters new and old, not for the average gamer who probably doesnt know about ghostbusters.
and the difficulty can (as i posted in another topic) affect the enviorment of the level of the games. (i didnt even know you had to go up the dam and infiltrate a timesplitter zombie infested lab in time splitters 2 until i tried it on medium)
and i doubt this was played with the cutscene times totaled in with the supposed Game time length.
i’m not dissing the reveiw, its a great review.
i just dont think the reviewers tried it out fully.
i intend to win every achievement, beat every challnge, and have fun beyond the capacity for rational with this game, i mean whats the point of playing a game if you dont bother completing the achievent list score and collect all the collectables (excluding SSBB, collecting all the trophies takes a LONG while)

…this!
I haven’t seen it yet, but, it is written like the third movie so the fact that it’s short or linear in game terms doesn’t really matter., not to me anyway… Plus all that other stuff peoples up there said, about original voice artists etc…
.It’s ghost busters…enough of a reason to play it everyday anyway…
Also, maybe it’ll be like cod4, where the game is actually short, but, in multi player the whole thing has new life and endless scenarios for fun., I’m trying to keep myself in the dark abit till friday, I know it looks good and all the main guys are back…
So, that’s enough for me to pop a load in my pants, let alone, go and buy the game!
I found one web site were a guy was totally slating the game and downing it in every way. As i read on this guy prefers to play games in the games workshop. So im my opinion he has no right to comment as you can almost guarantee he will be nearly 40 and wont of had sex…
GBTVG Looks cool and i cant wait
P.s i thought Grand Theft Auto on the Xbox 360 was too short too…If your playing games round the clock they dont last as long but as i play games on occassion im sure it will last me.
