Re-adding sound kit to a pack

This is all probably newbie stuff, but I tried reading through some of the tutorials and it was a bit over my head.

I bought a pack from a poster here a couple years ago that has an exoray light kit. It used to have an exoray sound kit but that was removed. I asked about adding sound back and was told:

“Yes the speaker is still in the pack located in the hda box..top right box on the pack. The light kid is exoray and if you buy an exoray plug and play sound kit you just connect it to the light kits mother board and then solder some wires to the speaker and you should be good to go”

Where would I buy an exoray sound kit and is there a tutorial for hooking it up? Or can I buy a kit from this site?

You would have to find someone with an Exoray kit they want to part with.

Your best bet would be to buy a new sound board, such as the one here in the GBFans shop, and just wire it in as a stand alone unit. You may have to switch out your switches if they are not DPDT already.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately everything in that second paragraph is Greek to me :slight_smile: how would I know if the switches are DPDT ready? And are the instructions for putting it in as a standalone unit?

This thread is the best an easiest to use, Sound Board DIY (GBFans Chip, Replica Props, Crix, etc) - Tutorials & Guides - GBFans.com , it will seem like more Greek to you at first. If you can source all of the parts listed it will all start to make sense to you.
