My girlfriend always wants to do couples costumes and I usually want to be something I’m interested in building. Last Halloween I made my first classic pack. This Halloween I’m building a reboot pack for her.
I’m on the fence about the reboot itself. Open to it, hope it’s good. But what makes me happy is that it’s gotten her excited about Ghostbusters. I also am fond of this pack. Also it’s smaller, which is great because she can’t carry my pack around for very long. So in the interest of keeping the pack especially light, I’m trying to print as much as possible. Not too concerned about accuracy, but trying to get the right sizes as much as I can. If anyone notices places I really bungled the scale, I’m open to re-printing pieces so please point it out.
I really love the 3d printed packs I’ve been seeing lately and this is no exception. Those are some fine looking prints and I’m excited for the end result!

Thanks! It’s my own, building it in maya. I’ll put it up on thingiverse when I’m done. Hopefully by the time I do that we might have some new measurements/details that I can update the files with. All the ‘known’ parts should be pretty close size as I looked up the dimensions of each.

Got my led ring yesterday. It’s super bright. I saw another user doing it and it seems like a great way to build in some lights without knowing the pattern or if there will be more colors than red. I can easily reprogram without taking the pack apart.
Not very fond of the reboot idea but the printed pack looks really good, especially with the metallic paints, mesh and LED ring. Where did you buy it at and was it reasonably priced? I might look into updating my budget pack lighting sometime in the future if its viable and inexpensive.
Spray paint is always hard to calculate because I have so many colors and just go buy when I’m out, but:
~1 can of filler primer $10
~ 1 can of silver and 1 dark grey $20
~ Already had black so probably $4 worth
I’ve gone through about a kg and a half of filament so about $75. I buy Makerbot brand because they fit my printer nicely but if I just print a custom spool holder I could easily be paying like half the price for filament. I’m lazy and I’m definitely paying for it :sigh:

Looks like $310. This is the first time I’ve actually added it up and to be honest I thought I spent more.
A year later, I’ve finally gotten around to uploading the 3d print files. Keep in mind these aren’t 100% accurate, but it should get you what you see from my build pics. If anyone uses them, please use the ‘I made one’ feature on Thingiverse. I’d love to see it.
