Reliable Source for Proton Pack Kit

I’ve been looking to build a pack for several years now. Is there a reliable seller of kits? I’ve looked at a couple of places but I kept seeing reviews on them being slow, poor quality etc.

I’m not interested in Proton Props UK, Ben of Kent due to reviews on this forum.

This isn’t for Halloween. I’m just trying to find a kit from a reliable seller. I specifically want a kit to build, not a completed one from Haslab or Spirit Halloween or the like.

No good answers.

I’ve been delusional that one day I’ll wake up and Mack factory will have everything in stock… but you’ll probably be waiting on parts for years

pchrisbosh1 is definitely well respected. I’d be very happy with his shell. maybe pair it with throwing chickens and heavy props / gbfans shop. I’ve never seen a vender that does everything perfect. The best packs usually have multiple sources

I’d suggest buying the shell from Tom at Positron Props on etsy. Then grab the rest from gbfans, other etsy stores, and etc.

Well, that’s unfortunate.

I don’t have much hope for Mack’s factory either. I’m in the 1400s in the waiting list, so saying that it’d take awhile to get to me is a bit of an understatement. I posted in pchrisbosh1’s thread about wanting a shell so maybe I’ll get lucky and be able to get one of those.

Sadly yes no real great full pack builders currently. That’s part of why a food many of us grabbed Spirit and Hasbro packs to mod them, because reliable builders are not super out there currently. You can either work with a prop. pack builder locally with you or buy a Hasbro/ Spirit pack to mod until you can find someone you could purchase a kit reliably from.

Is this thred still going?

I personally have a BOK shell and it is very good, for quality and getting a shell mounted to a motherboard and all that

I would recommend it

But I got my shell/motherboard years ago, and I understand people have had issues in receiving stuff recently,

And I can’t speak to that because I’ve not got anything else from Ben since then.

Macks factory shells are more readily available now, but I don’t know about their motherboard ?

If the motherboard becomes as available as the shells

You could get that, then you could build on to it with parts from elsewhere.

So my 2 cents, Bok is a quality product but I don’t know about how long you would have to wait

If you can wait however,

You could order the shell/motherboard from BOK of Macks factory (When their motherboard is available)

Then you could gather all of your other parts separately,

Throwing chicken has a great wand kit for example. And the gbfans store is pretty top notch.

There are people in the US who can build. I am one of them. I take on commissions. But I don’t run it like a business. I do one order at a time and just tell people youre on a waiting list.

As for parts, today there are so many options that its scary. 3D printing has come so far that the measurements are dead one to screen used packs. But you miss our on the wonky details.

The other thing you should definitely talk about is cost or amount you are willing to invest. Im a 3k plus type of commission. But my gear is dead solid and spot on. The big delays in any build often will come to the electronics. And specific parts. The electronics can take awhile these days because the demand is stupid high. Ive waited nearly a year sometimes to get the electronics in from some people because they are just swamped. So take that into account too.

But if your looking for something you can hit me up and I can talk you through what it is I can do.
