Replacing the Clippard on the Spengler wand... Is it possible?

Is it possible to replace the Clippard Valve on the Spengler wand? I love it but the fact that Hasbro chose to put a funky shaped Clippard valve on the wand (and I am sure that shape does not exist on a real valve anywhere) just irks me. I have seen some people open their wand up and oddly they have to drill holes just to get to the hardware that opens this thing up which I found to be really odd since I am sure that Hasbro knows that the Ghostbusters fanbase likes customizing our stuff.

I know that I already have my own full-sized proton pack and the Spengler wand is still in the shipping box under my bed (I played with it for a bit just to check it out when I got it), but I went ahead and backed the new Haslab pack. For the purposes of having an 84 pack and an Afterlife pack, I can’t think of anything I would change except getting a motherboard that fits the Haslab pack because if you mount an ALICE Frame to it as is, you would still have the holes from the stock straps. I would also think that they are going to recast the Clippard from the wand and that is going to make me start swapping parts out.

I don’t want to destroy my wand so I decided to ask here before I try. I feel like such an idiot but I managed to destroy the molded screws of one of the Walmart Ghost traps thinking that I was going to get the heatsink off that way to get to the batteries, I don’t know why I didn’t see the screw right away that is made for it, lol.

I haven’t got my wand yet, but from videos I’ve seen, the screws on the clippard valve are functional, but held on by nuts inside of the wand. So you can take the valve off, but you’ll need to get inside of the main box and retrieve the nuts to put anything back on. Though, I think I saw a thread somewhere on here where someone found that their screws were glued in to their nuts, so they hand to chop them off with a dremel wheel.

The screws to the valve on my wands were not glued. I unscrewed mine no problem. You will need to drill a large hole into the shell for the alignemet post on the Clippard. The nuts should fall out of this with a bit of shaking. Then drill out the screw holes to fit the #10 screws on the Clippard.

Read though these posts for more info.

Thank you. I will check it out. Thanks for the response guys.

What about replacing the Clippard on the Neutrona Wand Plasma Series (1984)?

It’s the same for the Spengler one. The likely scenario is that it requires fully opening up to do, even if you are lucky and those nuts aren’t glued.

I had zero problems replacing without opening the wand. Just unscrew the Hasbro Clippard, drill a center hole behind where the valve sits for the real Clippard to sit flush, and the nuts will easily fall through that larger center hole with a few gentle shakes.
