I was shopping yesterday at Target, and they had the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures that I had when I was a kid in the 80’s. The card backing, the plastic weapon pieces that you break apart, everything was like it was. They are the 25th anniversary figures for TMNT. It was great. I felt like a gitty 6 year old again. But, I would love to see the same thing happen to The Real Ghostbusters figures with the same treatment. I know that there will be new figures available in June, and they have the rights to the TRGB sculpts, but i dont know if they plan to re do them like these, or a new sculpt of the RGB’s. Anyway, this would be AWESOME!!! sorry if this has been brought up, i havent been in this thread.

Yeah the entire TMNT line just keeps dropping and dropping in value with every re-release they do. I’m all for the new figs that Mattel is going to make, but complete remakes that cannibalize the classics? no thanks.
I’ve worked WAY too hard to try and get every fig in the original run for them to reissue them all.
I’d love to get the toys I had as a child and not have to pay through the roof for them!

*On Donkey’s side, I worked to hard to get, or rather re-aquire the Kenner RGB figures, from my youth, MANY MOC, and at HIGH prices…So much so the first series RGB’s MOC I have yet to secure, as the prices on eBay reach $100 or more per figure…Not to mention the INSANE bidding wars on said pieces [ALOT of which I’ve lost]…And there’s something to be said about owning actual “vintage” items…Each their own individual “time capsule” of sorts…
*Now having said that, and on AJ’s end, being able to go out and pay $6-$8 for an exact reissue, provided that the cards are the same [ALL TMNT reissues have a “special” 25th Anniversary" backing card that looks haphazard at best], and there’s nothing to suggest that they are that different from the original runs, is a great idea…I’m not collecting, nor have I ever, just so I can see a price gain…I don’t ever plan on selling ANYTHING if I can absolutely help it…So adding reissues, provided that they are from the same molds et al, to my existing vintage collection wouldn’t be that much of a biggie…Not to mention my 3 Year old nephew who absolutely LOVES RGB could have a shot to own some of the figures without me having to scour the aforementioned eBay for overpriced “old stock”…
*So I’m obviously “on the fence” with this one…Either way, at this point, I’m fine with either route, even if this is all completely hypothetical…Which it is…

Well, as I “only” had late series such as fright and super fright features, I think it would be could if they release the original ones…
I see no problem with re-releasing figures, though I’d much rather see new and better figures made from RGB. Old figures are nice, but give me accuracy, detail, and articulation any day over nostalgia.

It would be cool to see them, but there releasing a new set in june for the movie. i personally know how the prices have tripled over the last 5yrs for these figures on ebay. i Paid 150 for all 4 original figures moc sold them later small payday, and now bought them on ebay again for over 400 ! anyone know is ebay the only spot to buy these ?

they just did that with GI Joe and I think they look like crap
