I noticed rarely during the game, the guys call you “Hoss” is that suppose to be the Rookies last name or something?

As soon as you said Scooter… I was thinking of Scooter Pie.
Venkman also calls him “Caddy” a few times.
Egon also calls him “Cadet”
I think Cool Breeze Nickname is funny that Venkman calls him. I wonder if the guys really dont know the poor kids name.

Scooter is his name in the game. He is based on a former Sierra Producer prior to Atari’s takeover.

I almost thought his last name was “Bennett” because in the beginning when you bust the ghost in the firehouse basement, Ray says “Your pack is going into the red, Cadet, vent it.” But he says “vent it” so fast after the rest of the dialogue, I thought he was calling you “Cadet Bennett”. I figured it out though.
And I’m pretty sure scooter is a nickname. We knew about him being based on one of the developers.

The person who the Rookie’s character model is based off of is a guy named Andrew French, yes who was involved before Activision let the game go and Atari bought it. There was no take over.
