Blues Brothers 2000
i don’t think so… the lack of BB 2000 was the absence of Jake, and his blood brother signed for a telefilm at the time. so aykroyd changed the script.
then
1- bb2000 was the first sequel of a piece of history that, in my opinion, never needed a sequel (it’s like a sequel of animal house or 1941)
2- ghostbusters already had a sequel so you can make another one (the original cast is live and well)
Excuse me for my bad english!
the real reasons:
-
Columbia wont release the rights to do another film.
-
Original actors are too old and fat to do another movie (the words of the actors, they much have low self-esteem)
Chuck justs needs to give all the boys in grey a Total Gym, problem solved ![]()
well, in the last year Gb3 evolved into a future cgi project (if the game is successfull) so the original cast could voice it.
i think that the BB 2000 reference is due to its weak script and our friend has fear that Gb 3 will have a weak script too.
BB 2000 had a weel script becuase they had too figure a way around the whole dead Beliushi thing, as long as none of the busters die i say were in the green for story (no unnecessary story on why the missing guy isn’t there)
I really dont think they could make a crapy story line. Everyone here would watch it whether it was good or not.
I dunno I felt the same way about Terminator 3. I was so amped to see that and yes, I still bought it on DVD but that was pretty bad. And Sarah Connor wasn’t in it because she died of …Cancer? Whaat??? She didn’t die saving John Connor from some assassin robot from the future she died of …CANCER. Anyway Im getting off topic.
To my understanding, Bill Murray has been rumored to be dead in GBIII if hes signed up to do it and I’ve heard he will be haunting the firehouse. "On quiet nights… you can still hear him saying: ‘any messages?’ "
A GB videogame that is actually fun as a sequel is great, but with all due infinite respect, I do not want to see Harold Ramis in a size 2x flightsuit busting ghosts. :sigh:
along the lines of weak script I also think without Ivan Reitman there to direct there is going to be a lot of wincing from the GB community. all considering he is the one who is credited for taking Aykroyd’s script and bringing it down to earth.
Ivan Reitman didn’t bring the script down to earth. He told Dan Aykroyd to work with Harold Ramis on it to scale it down to something that could be filmed on a Hollywood budget.
reitman did Evolution. and My Super ex girlfirend :walterpeck:
I remember seeing Evolution in the movie theater and it seemed a bit Ghostbuster-esque like the way the story progressed. I can’t describe it :whatever:
my super ex-girlfriend was horrible. Who the hell talked him into having any affiliation with that movie.
Reitman actually did bring it back down to Earth in a way. He thought the movie would benefit from being based in reality and the audience would be able to relate more
He’s(and Ramis) are very much credited with shaping the premise of the movie, having it be a going into business story, set in the present.
It was to bring it to a reasonable budget but the original would have taken place on different dimensional planes.
The music saved BB2000 for me in theaters. I can’t even bring myself to buy it on DVD. I just don’t foresee myself really wanting to ever watch it. I have the soundtrack.
To me, EGB was the test for Ghostbusters 3 though it was poorly marketed and not that well received. Then of course Bill Murray and time are the other hurdles as someone said. The guys are just getting old. I’d be content with two movies. The CGI thing would be cool and I’d definetly see it but it doesn’t appeal that much to me.
i agree and it had the feel of the gb team in my opinion (with the guys from the movies personalities being similar in a way to the GB team, you know the smart guy, the charismatic one and the other guy who supplements the other two and i can’t figure out a way to describe the last, cause i don’t wanna say that winston was just the token black guy i know he did more than stand there, maybe acted as the outsiders look on things i guess)
and for the super ex girlfriend movie yeah it sucked very badly don’t blame Reitman for that, every one does a crappy movie every now and then some times cause they have obligations that go against personal reasoning(maybe he’s a friend with one of the people making it and they wanted him to do it, or more likely the biggest reason to do a crappy movie to make a quick buck for financial reasons)
i never really felt a GB theme in evolution…except for aykroyd and reitman…thats it…but you know if you go to IMDB and type in ghostbusters 3, evolution comes up in the search…or atleast it used to…dont know about now
well cause its similar in a very non descriptive sense, a group of people in a scifi-comedy were they fight some non-human force were the government won’t stop be stupid and messing with their shit.
and the group dynamics are a little similar and of course Aykryod and Reitman
