This thing can’t be serious…can it? The “insights” they offer during the trailer are complete nonsense.

I just watched it, it all made sense to me. I’m looking forward to this actually.
Yeah, I’m not sure about much of anything they said in that clip.
Sometimes there’s deep symbolism in films. And sometimes people just read into movies way too much. This is one of those times.
I look forward to their comparison of Bill Murray’s performance in GB2 to the secret alien race of Illuminati lizard people controlling America.
Personally I look forward to the part that compares the Roswell crash to the containment explosion. And how Lewis Tully was the second gunman on the grassy knoll.
The containment unit was, like, an inside job, man.
I’m pretty sure the twin towers at the end of Ghostbusters 2 foretold 9/11.
Making a puppet out of the Statue of Liberty in Ghostbusters 2 was, like, presaging the Patriot Act, man.
It’s right there. Think about it, man.
The river of slime in GB3 was symbolic of the DEADLY fluoridation of our water supply. Much like flouride, it’s CONCENTRATED EVIL. I can’t believe I didn’t see it before. We are all such sheeple. WAKE UP. DON’T BELIEVE THEIR LIES. GHOSTBUSTERS 2 TRIED TO WARN US BUT WE DIDN’T LISTEN.
The author is dead. It doesn’t matter if the filmmakers intended any of these things. If the viewer can find it supported by the text, that is their meaning.
Anyone know who is behind this? I’m very curious, and being a habitual and sometimes professional over-thinker – I’d love to be involved.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with dissecting a film and providing your own hidden meaning to it. Just because it seems silly or outrageous to you doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t have the chance to take their own deciphering from the film. It’s not like you’d be forced to believe Ghostbusters is about the tobacco industry or any other theory. Some of them sound interesting to me and I love deep film analysis so I’d totally give something like this a watch. This isn’t the same thing as weak conspiracy theorists, it’s just film analysis. People have been doing the same thing for Kubrick films, Lynch films, Spielberg films, Cameron films, etc. al. for a long time. Just because Ghostbusters is an apparently surface level comedy horror doesn’t mean it can’t be analyzed.
All that said, this reeks of a prank based on Room 237, which was a fun watch. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in The Shining or film analysis itself. But who knows, I’d watch it if it was real.
Yeah, I’m guessing this thing is a parody trying very hard to push the boundaries of Poe’s Law.
Saw an article today talking about how this is a parody, then saw AJ had put like three articles up talking about it being a parody as well.
The movie is clearly intended to be used a propaganda tool for Reaganomics. Government regulation nearly causes the end of the world…TWICE.
