Im building a studio creations proton pack. Im looking to buy the motherboard part. Is there any recommendations for this shell?
Some people use MDF (1/4") I use 1/8" plywood used in cabinets. I’m thinking about trying pexiglass and getting it laser cut on my next one.
Sadly I do not have the tools or the talent to fabricate my own parts. I have been slowly buying the parts and putting them together. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a motherboard that works with a studio creations shell.
I don’t think there is one, since the pack is a bit smaller than a fiberglass shell. If I can get one laser cut then I could offer a run. But I’m just in the “Hey! I got an idea!” phase.

How off would a normal motherboard be when used with the studio creation shell. I am by no means a purist on accuracy. Im shooting for 85% - 90% accuracy.
I personally have never worked with a SC shell but I have had a few people that used my pumper tell me that the shell
is sometimes a hair smaller than normal.
So there is a chance a GBfans or MMM board will be on the large size but it should still work.
You should really try to cut your own motherboard for it! I know you said you don’t want to but let me encourage you!
All you need is a cheap handheld Jig saw (You can pick up a cheap one for about $25) and a board of 1/4" MDF (about $7 at home depot)
Just check the reference photos here, all you have to do is trace around the shell for the most part with a sharpie, allowing for the few parts on the motherboard where it’s not right following the shell’s shape.
Using a Jig saw is super easy. It cuts at a perfectly straight up and down, and you can go really slow with it to be accurate.
The MDF cuts very easily, you could do it yourself in 20 min for less than the cost of any motherboard!
Be brave and try it!!!
This was my first time using a Jig saw for my SC pack. It’s not perfect but it fits the shell exactly!
OK I will give it a try. I guess I didn’t realize how cheap a saw could be.
