i can understand your feelings on the matter but you have to take a factor as to why it is not being reported.
There have been so many times and falsies about GB 3 that has made it hard to believe until we get a offical press release form sony. Hell even then it’s hard to believe until something actually gets done. hell anyone can write a script, and dan has had one for how long now? how many revisions is this script going to go through? remember it wasn’t that long ago that we were told the video game would be considered GB 3. Now all of a sudden the movie is comming?
Trust me i would love to see another GB 3 just like anyone else would, but im not getting my hopes up until more concrete evidence is put in front of me. Perfect example, remember the GB 3 casting contest? because of that hella awesome photoshop, everyone went bat shit reporting GB3 was inthe works with a new cast. Honestly, im not going to believe it until i see it
When I got up for work this morning there was some interview with Dan on talking about this, I feel real out of the loop because I have no Idea what the hells going on lol. He said a script has been ordered but the movie itself is has not been greenlight correct?
Just heard the bit on the Spin station. They say that all the cast is returning and they played the clip where Dan talks about how getting Judd and Seth would be a dream. A bit later, the Djs joked about having old ghostbusters memorabilia and seeing the 3rd one together. News is spreading fast. If everyone does come back, this could be cool. Hopefully. I
I hope it’s not a recast. I think it would be ideal to have the originals there and then either begin the film having already established GB as country/worldwide organization, or possibly start right as GB starts to put International offices in action, or end it with GB going World Wide. I think somebody on Protoncahriging said it, but I think a montage at the beginning or the end showing different teams from everywhere making busts would be awesome. Double awesome if they used the fans
It’d be hard to pull off, but to have just cameos in a montage of things like, I don’t know, GBs in Tombstone AZ ( ;))busting gun fighter spirits, or squads everywhere busting local famous haunted spots, so people right away recognize where they are from and that they are part of a larger GB corporation, and that would be it. Just a quick, cool little thing.
I don’t like the idea of Dan and Harold not writing the script. Now I watch the Office and it is hilarious but that doesn’t mean I want those guys writing Ghostbusters. I mean Ghosbusters is Dan Aykroyd’s creation I think he (along with Harold) is the only one who could give a GB3 justice. Not that the other guys wouldn’t write an awesome script it just won’t feel like Ghostbusters. But that’s just me.
You bring up an interesting point, but I think that it won’t be difficult to write around it. Hopefully the new scribes are privy to the script for the game and can reference and not reference things while remaining in the continuity. And hopefully they leave Dana out, anytime I hear her say anything about it she seems so very disinterested, even more so than Murray.
ok, I have posted this already on PC, but I thought it was interesting enough to post here too! It could be truth or copy selling BS, but still it was worth a look!
From the Chicago Tribune
'Busters not afraid of sequel
Chicagoan Harold Ramis told the Tribune on Friday that a third “Ghostbusters” movie is finally in the works.
Columbia Pictures has hired Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, Ramis’ writing partners on his upcoming comedy “Year One,” to supply the script. Judd Apatow and his stable of actors (Seth Rogen? James Franco?) may be involved, along with originals: Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and perhaps even Bill Murray, long thought to be a hold-out.
“According to Dan, Bill Murray is willing to be involved on some level,” Ramis wrote in an e-mail. "He did record his dialogue for the new Ghostbusters video game, as did Danny and I and Ernie Hudson.
“The concept is that the old Ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. Not much else to say at this point. Everyone is confident a decent script can be written, and I guess we’ll take it from there.”
Or maybe some kind of CGI film? Since I feel fans will riot if they get a whole new cast or something. I could see CGI working out, I mean look at beowulf.
Like, I don’t mind if there’s a couple of new guys on the team with the originals, but not a whole new team with the originals in the background. I’m paying to see the Ghostbusters, not GB: TNG.
It’s like going to see a Star Trek movie that’s for the original generation, and when you get in, it’s ALL about TNG with a couple cameos by Kirk and Spock.
I mean, TV is one thing. Keep GB: TNG on TV. Theatrically? Either the original four are the main 'Busters, or not at all. I’d rather have six more games than one GB3 which is GB:TNG.
You’re letting the rumor mongering get to you, guys. Whilst some reports say Seth, Judd and co are involved, the majority I’ve seen don’t make mention of them… I figure that the old Dread Central rumors that this site debunked are getting mixed together with the other rumors.
