Is the painting of the four Ghostbusters with Oscar supposed to be strictly a joke, symbolic of how they saved him & the real painting? I don’t really get that at all.
Was Vigo’s painting just a fake or something, revealing the true painting upon his defeat?
It’s the one thing in the sequel I wasn’t too thrilled with. Ok fine…Sigourney Weaver taking her shirt off didn’t help either…
it s a joke in a comedy movie It gave the movie “something” to end with. I honestly wouldn’t try to overthink it BUT I am sure with Vigo being a magician/sorcerer the canvas clearly has magical properties and it’s not strictly a canvas. More of a portal or realm of sorts, as we see it explode within. Perhaps it changed to reveal the “prophecy” of the true heroes? Or I don’t know maybe in Vigo’s time there were 4 relatives of the guys that helped kill Vigo when he was alive
I always figured it was the pyschomagnatheric properties of the painting. They defeated Vigo with positively charged slime augmented by the New Yorkers’ high spirits outside. The painting’s “polarity” switched and the heroes were imprinted.
Then again, I have my disbelief suspenders on. Maybe you should get a pair.
Many paintings have several paintings under them. Either drafts of the painting we see now or completely different paintings that were scrapped.
The joke at the end is before the Vigo painting was created the painting under it was one showing four heroic/holy like figures and a baby much like Oscar. This alluding that it was prophesied that these events would happen and the guys would be heroes.
disbelief suspenders should come standard with all movies.
Not so much prophecy I guess but something like that like you said, the painting took on a new look once Vigo was defeated. I also like what Kevin said. It’s one of those things you can speculate until the cows come home about what it could mean.
the simple answer is, it’s a joke it always funny to me how much some people seem to dislike it.(No one in particular I mean)
