Flashback, Halloween 2005. I decided that after looking on the boards and realizing that I didn’t have the funds to buy one of Norms packs, I thought I would take a crack at building one of my own.
I was happy with the results…for a while. I then came back here and to proptopia, saw others progress and said to myself, I can do better. So I started to build another. one turned into two, then three. What you see now are the WIP. Each one is scratch built from foam board, wood, and various things I had laying around. Even the Clippards on the packs are made from dowel rods. I wanted to see how far I could get with just making everything on my own. Are they 100% movie accurate? nope. But they look good to me. let me know what you think. All constructive feedback is wanted and needed :lol:

The technique you’re using to make the bumper is similar to what I did. Once I got it put together I carved the grooves in it with a dremel. It’s not perfect, but it looks perfect to me.
I agree with you stantz, close is good enough for this propper. the one thing that I think we all lose sight of to obtain the “movie acurate” look is that we should be having fun doing this. And I must say that I had a lot of fun with this so far. and again, thanks for the kind words once again.
no pics to post now, but I have gotten the 2nd of 3 packs done, almost completed the 3rd…the 3rd I started using styrene/pvc foam for the major boxes. I love working with Styrene/PVC foam. Where was this stuff when I started working building before lol. I also started construction on a static trap as well. I’ll get some pics taken later in the week and post them. After nearly cutting off my thumb yesterday, I can say that I will be happy when I have completed this project…I just hope I don’t listen to my boss and consider building a slime blower :twisted: lol
Sweet! I just bonded my gun, I’ll be ready for paint pretty soon. Maybe you can help me out. What are your slo blo assembly dimensions? Not the round part just the rectangle. Nobody has answered my thread and i’m stuck. Anyways keep up the good work!
I have now painted my trap, and Gun, and to add to the joy of prop building, I got my Hyperdyne kit in today…MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA :twisted: I spent the last few hours installing the gun kit here at work (The joys of working in a call center. When I get home, I’ll get some pics taken and get them posted up. I’m very very happy with the results so far
i built a pack from foambord for a project at uni earlier this year using the plans on this site (huzzah 4 the vast archive of all knoledge and wisdom that is the internet!) Its amazing just how good a result you can get just from knocking something up from what you have kickin about at home!
what i didnt have i got (after much rumageing!) in skips down the local scrappy. The whole thing worked out nice’n cheap too!
