Hey all
Huge GB fan here having a little problem.
Does anyone remember seeing the actual book (well…prop) Tobin’s Spirit Guide in either of the films or in Real Ghostbusters? I’m sure you saw it at some point…its driving me mad.
If anyone knows the part in the films, or which episode of RGB its in it’d be much appreciated

It was in The Bird of Kildarby episode of The Real Ghostbusters. Although, it was a digital hand-held version.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt they bring it up on a computer in one of the movies?
The only thing we ever see them looking it on a computer is Vigo’s background, which is off of the Occult Reference Net…in the movies, that is.
in “I Am The City”, there is a computer version of Tobin’s Spirit Guide though they say it is expensive as it must not be a big seller 
Yeah, in the cartoon, it was basically the ghost version of the pokedex from pokemon, only 20 years before the pokedex. There were a few times they looked up ghosts on the computer (Boss Poso and mee-krah) and in books (the grundel) during the cartoon, but I don’t recall them ever saying exactly what those sources were called. It may have been something completely different, but if they had a handheld version of it, I would wager a guess that they probably had PC and textbook versions of it lying around as well.
I’m surprised no one has tried to make an RGB tobin’s spirit guide! That would be a cool project, especially if someone went through and actually made a file on all the ghosts the teams have faced and put it onto a modified PDA or something. I know Tristan Jones has been working on a version in print for Cereal Geek magazine that looks INCREDIBLE so far.
Edit: Zack has confirmed the existence of a PC Tobin’s. Well played sir. 
A hand-held version, and even a pocket-sized version (if I remember correctly) appeared in the episodes The Spirit of Aunt Lois and Don’t Forget the Motor City. The book was mostly black with a stylised red ‘T’.
It also appeared in the first issue of Legion and was referenced in the third.
Here’s the few eps Kingpin is referencing. Aunt Lois on top and Motor City below. I believe someone in the misc fan props made one, though I seem to remember it saying “Tobin’s Spirit Guide” on it. Somewhat crappy caps from youtube.
I know in “The Grudel” we see the inside pages of what we can probably assume to be Tobin’s SG.

What about “Spenglers Spirit Guide”?
Sometime in the omnibus he wrote that between RGB and EGB?
Venkman pulls out a paperback copy of the Spirit Guide in the RGB 3-D special (“Vol.2 No.0”) in part one of “Tobin and the Maze of Time”. It’s how he identifies the guy they see in Ray’s dream vision–there was a picture of Tobin on the back cover.
Unfortunately, that’s one of the few Now issues AJ doesn’t have scanned here yet 
Yeah. Probably something he worked on when he was bored in the Firehouse, and maybe to make a little money to keep the ECU running or something. I think Kylie said she got her copy after her Great Grandmother died, so I assume it was out in 1996 (in-story) at the latest.
Someone should make one. Get pics of ghosts from RGB (redrawn, someone was doing that here I think) and make a TSG. Would be cool I think.

tobin spirit guide is featured promation thru out RGB - ray mentions it only once in the movie. egon makes referance to space catalog but otherwise it appeared in different forms in the toon and the marvel comic had referances as well
althought in the NoW comics tobin is depicated as being human - in the marval comics - tobin is this ugly purple ghost thing
