Trap holster question

I realise the trap goes on the holder but ive always wondered what does the pedal attach too?

Elwood

It usually hangs on the trap handle by the ribbon cable. doesn’t have a holder or holster perse.

yeah thats the most common way.

Like this, but with your pedal shut.

My friend has attached a belt clip to his pedal so he can attach it to his belt or holster strap. I like that way better.

Actually borzou99, doesn’t Ray have his on there the other way in the Sedgewick? With the pedal facing the trap top?

You mean how I have it in my pic?

He also has it hanging by the yellow/red hose. It switches from scene to scene.

No, I mean the other way around. So that the base of the pedal is facing outward.

You can see the white lable of the right Hammond in the picture, and what looks to be the relay on top of it, facing inward, towards Ray’s leg. The CAL-R is just above the relay.

OOOOHHH…

Ha ha, yeah…my bad

EDIT:

And here’s the other config I was talking about:

Yup, noticed that too. Call me crazy (no, don’t actually) but I kinda like that configuration because of how it jiggles around freely, just making the belt look that much more full. However it has the possibility of damaging the pedal.

Even though the other way is more secure and poses less potential to damage the pedal, I’m not as big a fan of the “streamline” trap/pedal holstering.

But when all is said and done, I think I’d prefer to keep the pedal safer. =)

Has anyone taken that into account when making the trap and/or plans? That the trap should fit nicely between the boxes? I had actually dug up this old thread - it’s where I first found out the information above. Unless I misinterpreted what AJ meant about “the pedal being designed to fit over the trap.” Either way, it lead me to find that scene showing how Danny had the pedal attached.

My friend attached the pedal using a belt clip and attaches the pedal to the strap that way the risk of damaging the pedal is minimized.
