GB Day 2022, they said the animated movie would be all new characters and a whole take back when it was a theatrical movie.
Is there any truth to Jeff Sneiders claim that the new animated movie will be told from a ghosts perspective and be called Ecto, while he also claims that the new series coming to Netflix will be centered around Walter Pecks run for mayor? An article on the newsfeed is claiming as such. He’s also claiming there’s a movie, an animated movie, and an animated series in the works. I would like to think the movie is a typo as we’d be the first to know if Ghostcorps is filming the sequel to Frozen Empire?

I do wonder if this is going to be a somewhat pared-down version of what they were planning when it was a theatrical release. I know at that point they had two directors, and now it’s just one. I’m not sure if two directors indicate a bigger project or not, but that stuck out to me.
So…Just read an article claiming that Incredibles 3 will be released in 2028. Anyone want to start taking bets the new animated movie may be competing with Pixar? Hoping it’s sooner rather the later but with little to go on I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get it until 2028.
I’d be more concerned if both were in theaters in the same year on the same date but even so Ghostbusters will be on Netflix so there’s a layer of insulation. Watch one, then go watch the other in the same night.

I’m not worried, it’s a big year and there’s plenty of space on the calendar for them were they both being cinematically released (which as Michael noted, they aren’t) to be released without one domineering the other in the cinema (clearly it’d be Incredibles 3 doing the dominating of the two).
Never say never, Incredibles 3 could end up having horrible writers. (cough, cough.) we could still come out ahead.

No, otherwise we’d be talking about it. The focus will be on the Night Shift from here until the premiere in terms of promotion. I don’t expect them to reveal more about this movie until after that. Probably in a year or so unless we hear something from the scoopers online.
