I’ve searched the boards and could not find anything definite concerning repairs so I thought I’d ask.
I purchased a shell that was damaged for $75.00 ( you really can’t complain for the price!), and I did check to ensure the seller was not a recaster either.
What I would like to ask folks with more experience with this is, What would you recommend repairing this with? I was thinking bondo and some sort of resin adhesive with some fiberglass strips on the inside to strengthen the area. But there is probably a much better way to repair this Here is a picture of what is damaged:
I’m new to building a pack from the ground up so I figured if I screw this up I’m only out 75.00 but would like this to turn out somewhat decent.

That looks like a pretty easy fix. I would use a 2 part 5min cure liquid epoxy for gluing the piece together you can get Loctite brand at Home Depot for about 5 bucks. After you carefully glue it back together I would then line the crack from the inside of the shell with 2 part epoxy putty which you can also get at Home Depot for about 5 bucks. You could also use the putty to fill in any open cracks and broken resin. With the fix that should put you about 85$ :-). Hope that helps sir.

I got the pack put back together (the epoxy is curing right now) but this is how it’s coming along, also thanks for the advice Chris that stuff worked great!

the inside with the epoxy curing. I mixed up some extra and spread it around the inside along the cracks to give it some extra strength:
And finally, at least for now the peice epoxied into place, I’ll post a picture when the epoxy has fully cured:
I still need to fill any little gaps and sand them down but I think this will be a fun build!
