What is this thing?

I’ve been cleaning out my attic recently and came across this random toy, that I think is ghostbusters. It’s missing some parts (which are probably buried under all the other junk) so I really can’t say what it does, but I think it shoots something. It requires 2 D batteries and a little gear inside spins around; so it still works. There is an on/of switch, and a neutral, high, low switch, as well as a score board. The copyright information on the bottom says that it was made by Kenner in 1987 and gives off all the Columbia Picture rights as well. And it is made in some place called Macao. The handle, for some reason, is removable. I’ve looked all over ebay and google, but didn’t come up with any insight.

Here are a few pics:

Hopefully someone out there will know what this random item is ^^;

Parker Brothers Ghostbusters Dodge in the Dark :slight_smile:

WOW! I use to have one of these!

Thank-you!

It looks like I’m missing a blue disk. Does anyone know if this is all that I am missing?

Would you consider this a rare item, even with the missing blue disk?

(Presently it’s in my huge ghostbuster firehouse lot that I’m selling on ebay. I didn’t know what it was before I listed it ^^:wink:

I don’t remember a disk but I was young and I may have never removed it. I remember it projecting in red and the goal was to dodge things. No clue as to it’s rarity but I’ll tell you I personally never saw another one till now.

I’ve seen them on Ebay from time to time. Could be considered rare, but I don’t think there’s much demand for them either.
