Are you talking about the prop or the concept? The prop was rented from a prop house as a generic technical doohickey so there’s nothing really behind the design other than looking technological. The concept of the meter was included in the script as they needed some way of detecting and “measureing” ghosts. The nomenclature was probably made up by Dan as pseudo-psycobabble and belief in the supernatural runs deep in his family.
Yeah; the concept it was real fascinating how they came up with not only the idea of a device of something that would detect ghost but the design behind it … and even though it was just a technical doohickey, I wonder who gave the final say on it; Dan, Harold or maybe even Ivan?!?
