ok so im a chick and was wandering wether 2 go with the dickies dress for my suit or the flight suit for my suit help me decide ok any advice is greatly appreciated and wont be taken offenseive thanx aj u have a great site for gb fans
I honestly think that for a true Ghostbuster’s uniform, the flight suit is standard whether you are a guy or a girl. The reason I think that is because I always got the impression that the suit was not only a uniform but meant to protect the body as well. Granted, the flight suit is by no means body armor but standard flight suits are fireproof which counts for a little something. I would think with a dress (speaking all in made up movie theory here) the legs and arms would be easily susceptible to things that the regular suit was designed to protect. Another factor here is that the uniforms (like firefighters) were meant to be put on over the clothes as they were barreling out of the fire station. A dress IMO would either require wearing it all day or a more detailed suiting up process. Of course you would not have to worry about this at a costume party, etc. but that’s just my thought.
If you are going for the beauty part of it, I think you could pull it off either way. If you are going for practicality and an assumed authenticity, my vote goes for the flight suit.
I’m doing both … one for fun and one for a more traditional appearance when in public around children. 
My vote goes with the flight suit as well. You don’t mess with the classics.
If your interested in having a serious costume/uniform you need the full jump. If you are trying to be “sexy” and turn some heads go with the skirt. it as simple a that.

Andy_2_Cool posted a pic in another thread (“Female Ghostbuster Uniform”, I think) of a short sleeved flight suit for girls that looked awesome. If you could get your hands on one of those it would be a perfect combination of the normal flightsuit and the Dickies dress.
The regular flightsuit is great, but I think finding the right size could be a problem for a woman. I know that female sizes are usually two sizes down from those guys wear, so if a girl wears a size Medium that means she would need an Extra Small flight suit. That size might be tough to get, and beyond that you’d almost have to have one custom made. Also, they’re made for a man’s body, so they’ll never fit just exactly right.
Whatever you do, just don’t make it look too trashy. Nothing would suck worse than losing a costume contest to a girl with the same costume just because she decided not to wear a bra that night. :?
