Ok, so what gets your vote. Do you like the Ghostbusters who are in a more traditional costume, thats is movie accurate and authentic, or do you like the maximum cleavage, short skirt version better? Here are a few examples of each variety. Sorry if I snagged your photo from one of the other threads. I was just trying to do a comprehensive photo essay on the various takes of this costume, and in now way am I commenting about the moral values of those represented in the following photos.
Hey.. guys I specifically tried not to use words like ■■■■, or ■■■■■.. because I used pictures of real people. OH well. I guess it depends on if I am in a costume contest or not… cleavage always wins.
Our remale member prefers the normal jumpsuit despite how hard it is to find a suit that isn’t baggy. She wants to be seen as a ghostbuster, not a sex kitten.
“If” there really were ghostbusters it wouldn’t make sense for a woman to be running around dark and dirty places in short shorts, maybe for ease of movement like the guy on Reno 911 claims.
1- if you’d have a female ghostbusters in a ghostbusters team, she’d perform similar tasks and require the same equipment. See Kylie in EGB, she’s not in skirt.
2- I find sexy costuming to be laughable. If you make a costume that IS sexy, that’s good. but if you choose a normal costume and transform it to sexy, that’s not great. Example: sexy ghostbusters VS Leia in slave outfit.
Minimal transformations are OK, like the femtrooper. She’s not overexposed, yet its a female version. However, we have females in normal armor and its great.
3- With a sexy version, people want to take pictures.
with a well made outfit (regular version), and good props (that is rarely the case on sexy-oriented costumes), people stop, talk to you about the prop, the costume, and wants pictures. lots of pictures.
if you do that for the attention, you get a LOT more attention with a well made accurate proton pack then by showing your Bras, IMHO.
I’ve been to many cons. Seen people wearing nothing but danger tape, or chainmail. Its a style, but its not derogating from a base idea. Sexyizing a costume, that’s bad. Its like making an ectomobile out of a lada. You can do better, and you know it. Leave the fetishism at the sex shop, please.
If you care for a female perspective (I’ve shared my views before and a couple people have already mentioned what I think): I would rather have a normal suit (the one pictured front and back is nice, it is functional but doesn’t look like a tent) with movie accurate props. If a woman is wearing a GB uniform, she’s depicting someone who is a Ghostbuster: busting ghosts, being slimed, collecting samples, rolling traps, getting covered in goo…not something I’d want to be wearing a mini skirt while doing.
If women want to wear something sexy, keep it in the bedroom. Personally, I’ve made a sexy cop and a screen accurate slave Leia costume but I never wear them for anyone other than my husband.
Eyup, I’ll try and find what my lady has ordered and post for comparison
Edit:
We were browsing different sites and came across this which we thought with some slight adaptations would look pretty dapper as a GB2 style female alternate, We’ve binned the belty thing and replaced with the standard black gunbelt
We picked sexy this year. My girl is one of the bandwagon “One time a year when I can dress like a ■■■■ and get away with it” people. That thrower in her hands is for sale also, just need to put on the resin clippard. The flower in the hair is a new kick she is on, I dont ask.
