Female Ghostbuster Uniform?

A while ago, maybe last year I remember seeing pictures of a blonde girl in a one piece almost skirt-like khaki colored uniform (it had short sleeves with just enough room for the patch, and a zipper front) does anyone remember seeing that picture? Or know what the name of that type of uniform is? I’d like to make my gf a ghostbuster’s uniform thats for lack of a better words “cuter” than the average gb uniform. Thanks

this it? there have been others but this is the only one i could find using the search function for ‘female uniform’

Thanks, thats the image…I spent awhile looking on here and at all kinds of military surplus stores and can’t find these, now I just need to know what they are called so I can find em.

Try this maybe

Definitely not part of the standard uniform code.

Yup. I used the dickies khaki dress and it worked pretty good. I wish I had a better picture, but the picture below is what it looked like, even though its a very horrible picture of both of us. On her we put ghost grenades, a lifeguard, a radio and a trap. Later on before we went out we added a couple purple glow sticks to the key ring, just to light her up a bit. It looked very well. She has on the dickies khaki dress, and then also these industrial boots that she got a hot topic.

Thats sweet.

We got nominated for a couple multi thousand dollar costume contests that were invite only. However, we werent prepared for what we were up against. They were at local bars in downtown Orlando, so with a bunch of drunks voting, we lost to one girl who was wearing just panties and body paint with little stickers over her nipples, she was painted as a cheetah. Then we also lost to people who dressed up as the goonies…I thought the idea was unique, but their was really nothing to their costumes. I thought there were some others that deserved it more. However, we got a ton of recognition, showed up a few people wearing the rubies stuff, everyone liked it. Got radio recognition, things like that. Most of all it was fun, but man, what a long day wearing 40+lbs on you while standing for 5 hours.

Also, GJustis is really the pioneer fot the idea of the costume. I just took it a little further. So just wanted to throw a thanks out to him. And those girls I met downtown from two years ago that gave me the idea. Too bad I had a different girlfriend back then, I would have loved to cross some streams with all three of them…at the same time…

Nice posting for an alternative outfit for the ladies.

I have a friend that is interested in the uniform idea, but she is a little bit on the plus size and I noticed that Dickies doesn’t make anything bigger then a junior. Any ideas on how to subsitute for something simliar?

Would a basic Nurses outfit do just as well, just dye the outfit to the right color?

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks again on this post.

PS-> Are the ghost grenades made out of the PVC Glue cans? It looks like them, well anyway great idea.

I am not too sure about plus sizes. I have seen girls wear just the regular flight suit and it looks pretty good to. If you want to “sexy” look, then I am sure any kind of one piece dress or even just khaki shorts and a t-shirt would be fine. I think GJustis’s girl just whore khaki capris and a blakc tank top.

The ghost grenades are made from PVC pipe. I used pipe that was 2" in diameter and the length was like 3 - 4 inches. I sanded them down a bit to get the print off and also get the writing off and also so it would take the spray paint better. I got black and caution yellow spray paint. I sprayed the pipes yellow, let them dry overnight, then taped them off and spray painted the black lines. Then I got a long, thin bolt and two each of different size washers, one was 2", which matched the size of the pipe, the other was smaller. Then some fly nuts. I spray painted all that black. Then I put it all together first the small washer, then the big washer, then the pipe, then the big washer and then the small washer. Then the bolt went right through all of it and it was screwed together with the fly nut.

Also, even though these were made of pvc pipe, the washer made them very heavy. I made the bandleer out of two non traditional pistol belts. one going around the waist and then that connected together with the other going around the shoulder. The grenades are held in place by nylon ties by drilling a couple small little holes in the side of the grenades and then tying them to the belt.

Ice,

Thanks for the walk through on the gernades. Now, I’m going to sit down and build some. I might see about putting some chemlights inside of them and make them glow a little.

I’ll show them off when I get them done.

Thanks again for the inspiration and response back.

No problem. I know someone else also did grenades for their significant other and they put flashing LEDs on them. Not sure what he used, but it turned out pretty good. Anything is possible.

Found this on ebay the other day and just thought I’d share, other than the proton pack being smaller and upside down it looks better than the inflatable one (had to create multiple layers so you can see it since the original picture to the left was semi-transparent)

wug, you sir got me curious. so i went a searching and looky what i found gents… Sexy Ghostbuster

ok how hard is it to figure out which way to put on the pack?!..come on..i mena it doesnt bother me as much with HER wearing it but it does still bug me…jeez!..i hope it wasnt MADE to go on upside down

i doubt it was made to be like that.

… man i really hope, really really really hope that this costume is popular this year

My boyfriend and I considered the Dickies dress, but decided that I should just wear the normal suit. I did however decide on some Mudd brand combat boots rather than the normal ones. I had to get a childs size suit.

Thats me on the far right obviously. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey is that a real Bacharach 300 sniffer or just a made up prop? Nice boots by the way 8)

The Sniffer isn’t real, it’s made from a knecks box and junk lol.

One of our members wanted to have a more original outift. She picked a look that she wanted and put it all together herself. I dont really have many good pictures of it.. She still wears the usual proton pack and belt gear with it. Looks more menacing than a smaller pack.

Another shot with her in back.. her suit doesnt look so different as to take away from the group, but just enough to get some extra fanboy (and judges) attention. : )

The other girl in front doesnt go out with us enough to work on a special suit.

Course, theres nothing wrong with the classics every now and then…
