I started with the reboot (9th dr) - present & am now in the middle of the early years. Unfortunately, I worked at hot topic for a stint and needed a working knowledge of the newer series, hence the ass-backwards start. Presently Iām on collection 4 per Netflix watch now āClassic Doctor Whoā 1973ishā¦ Itās pretty rad to see how far special effects have come, and how cool they were back then. Thereās something to be said for the tangible monsters of years past ļ¼ļ¼¾_ļ¼¾ļ¼
For the record, I only worked at hot topic because I needed to be able to afford a surgery for my dog & they were willing to hire me & work around my grown-up job. (*ļ¾ā½ļ¾) Oh the horror! Oh the shaaaame!

I meant the newer gaggle of fans who only like it because the t-shirts are for sale at the mall and āmatt smith is hella hOtTTTTTTTTTTTT like zomglollercopter TARDIS NAILPOLISH!ā. No, but I like to know what Iām selling, as itās easier to relate to your customer base when you do. Aaaaaand when parents come in for the holidays looking for presents for their kids in genres they arenāt familiar with I was able to bridge the gap. I was older than my co-workers, blandly dressed (went right from the office to hottopia), and mild mannered but with a near-to-encyclopedic knowledge of what their kids were into / pop culture. Their wallets never saw me coming. muahahaha. I probably could have made a career of it if 1. it wasnāt an awful company to work for (for many reasons) & 2. I didnāt hate my life every second I was there. I mean, seriously, I was 10 years older than my ābossāā¦ AND IM NOT THAT OLD!!.. ą² _ą²
Yes. And a full memorization of the entire Korn catalog, as well as a very ironic disposition towards all pre-2000 pop culture. And angst. Donāt forget the angst.

Funny story; the hot topic I worked in actually caught fireā¦ faulty light switch in the bathroom. I think the juggalos had something to do with it.

I love ghostbusters, and i love Doctor Who. (iām english, it would be sacriligious not to!) if their paths crossed instead of the streams, the doctor would have saved the day WAY before the guys came up with a plan. And he would have most likely kissed Janine before Egon.
Yeah. And then Janine would slap him silly and run to Egon who, of course, would crush who ever the Doctor Who main character is under his uniform boot (metaphorically speaking).
