What is the function of the leghose? Are there any other theories besides ■■■■?
There are plenty of theories, ranging from an addition to the belt gizmo, siphon for excess slime. Beating people with it if they get too close maybe?
I think it was just an addition to the suit so they would stand out from mechanics or others in boiler/flight suits when filming in NYC.

When working with sensitive electronics you’d typically wear an ESD wrist strap to ground yourself (so as to not zap the electronics with static electricity and fry the circuits). Maybe the leg hose is kind of like that, but for the proton pack. And maybe newer iterations of the pack didn’t require it due to more advanced components, which is why the leg hose connector is capped off in the Afterlife flightsuits. And maybe the leg hose itself is filled with some kind of conductive gas. Maybe instead of electrical grounding it’s some kind of “PKE” or “Neutrona grounding” hose.
That’s all I can come up with in the two minutes I spent thinking about it :lol:

Muon scrubbers, like the roof of the Ecto (which Aykroyd did mention in the Ecto restoration video).
The excess muons (from i.e. the muon (ghost) trap, are neutralised by the muon absorbing yellow liquid flowing through the flightsuit.
That’s my own head canon.

I wonder if the in-universe tech evolved past the need for it, just like how real-world electronics get more efficient over time.
