Wiring question.

Hello all! New to the page and modding in general.

Question. I got the life size spirit pack and ordered a wand light kit from Jupiter electronics. (Below)

I am still waiting for it but was thinking about power. Would I wire the 9v battery to the existing electronics in the pack? I have been looking around and found a similar kit where they ran the wand l8ghts off the existing 3x AA battery pack.. (Below)

Does anyone know if A) will the existing electronics burn up if ran off 9v or B) can this kit run off the existing AA battery pack effectively?

Thanks all for any help you can provide!

Pretty sure that they’re entirely different voltages, unless the circuit board says otherwise. For example, some kits are labelled “VIN 3.7-12V”, which means they can run from any voltage in that range.

But the Spirit pack runs off 4.5V, and the Jupiter kit runs off 9V. So if you try to connect 4.5V to the jupiter kit it may not power up (undervoltage), if you connect 9V to the Spirit pack it might burn out (overvoltage, aka “releasing the smoke monster”).

You can buy DC converters (also known as a “buck converter”), that would allow you to convert the voltage from one to the other, if you really need to run everything from one power supply.

No idea what that YouTube video was supposed to be.

I can’t say for sure if the jupiter kit only runs off 9V but that’s what it looks like to me, based on the product descriptions.

Thank you for the reply. Haha yeah I dont know what happened with that link, I fixed it now. Anyways that’s what I was afraid of. Ugh oh well. I wanted them on the same power supply so I could wire the trigger from the stock pack to the trigger from the wand light kit so it would have sound when pressed but obviously don’t want to fry the stock board having them connected.
