welds
Oh man, she’s so freakin’ beautiful!!! I can’t wait to play with one a them there shells. gets misty eyed
How are you planning to offer the injector tubes?
Absolutely beautiful build.
I’m just going to offer them with and without welds aswell. I’m going to cast the plate on the end of them and have threaded rods cast in, that way people will just need to drill a couple holes and used the washers, lock washers, and nuts included with the kit.
I Was about to mold the pack today, but it was brought to my attention that I had one too many cosmetic plates, I pulled it off and repairing the area at the moment, I also found my section of 2.75" pipe to fine tune the N filter slot.
I actually noticed this when you first added the plates but I thought it was a idealized decision so I never thought of mentioning it. Nonetheless it does save me the time and work for removing it. ![]()
Nope, it was an accident, i counted 14 plates forgetting there was one under the angled piece
For casting, have you considered using a metallic silver gelcoat?
What about adding little indentions to mark where holes need to be drilled for specific items?
This would be a big help for a lot of people if it isn’t too late in the game.
I can’t believe nobody mentioned this but perhaps you should post pictures of your wife so we can verify this statement!
In all seriousness though, this is ■■■■■■ fantastic, I love any thread with the word ‘scratchbuild’ in the title, and this one surely doesn’t disappoint.
I actually tried doing this, unfortunately even my drilling isn’t perfect so I had to fill them. I’m nervous to try it again now because the putty is softer than the plastic I’m afraid the bit will slip back into the old holes and set me back even further
Yeah I can’t drill straight either, ask my girlfriend (bada-ching).
Here is how you get it spot on… lose the drill, keep the bit. Take an exacto knife and start to use it to drill into the surface. Once you got a good little notch going, get your drill bit and press it into the indention, rotating it with your hand. You just want an indention wide and deep enough to keep the power drill in place.
Well since you asked…
TC, I’ll definitely do that.
Moar.

I use pretty much the same method but instead of an exacto knife I use a hand held pin vice with a very small drill bit to get the notch started.
OK. so im starting on the drill spots now, i need to know by tomorrow what more do YOU guys want on this pack?

How’s everyone feel about that? If everyone wants it then I’ll do it, but i will note, its a modification that can easily be done to individual packs. just like the clipped edge on the eda
