I know this sounds Nusts, But I want to do a 3 pack build. After being away from the community for so long, and seeing how much it has progressed. I feel like need to get here and go full force.
My original Idea was to 3 different sizes of pack. One full size for myself with lights and sounds. One about 75% for my Girl Friend that is a fair bit on the small side (we go to a lot of Cons together for her comic work). And the 3rd for my son who I do not get so spend a lot with due to a bad divorce some years ago (thus the reason for my long absence). His would be like 60%. Not to small, but a little big for him so he can grow into it.
He just informed me that he is a Ghostbusters fan, he loves to watch the movies and cartoons. We play the Wii game whenever he is over. I want this to be something special for him as like a said before, I do not get spend much time with him at all. My idea was to get his done by Halloween 2014 working on ti with him when ever he comes over. And when it was all done I would dress up as Slimer, and let him case me around tick-or-treating.
Now looking around I got really exited to see that there is a detailed 1:1 Pepakura pack floating around. I see a few build threads for it thinking to my self, (this if perfect, I can make his detailed, light and strong by fiberglassing it when I am done). But as I dug deeper I found out the the files are no longer out there. The Creator has asked people not to distribute them as they were abused by some outside of the GB Fans community.
This puts a damper on the entire project. as this would be the perfect way to make the smaller pack for him, as well as finally make pack for my self ans the slightly smaller one for my GF.
I can wait to build the other two packs, I just really wanna build his. I don’t have the means to do a scratch build as of now (tools, funds, or space) And as far as I know, other than the Rubies Pack that might be coming out next year, no one else makes a smaller pack. I really do not like the Idea of making out of a plastic boxes and such because I want it be be fairly accurate, and built well.
So I ask, what options can you guys come up with? I have kinda been hit with some tunnel vision, and cant seem to find another way to make it well, and not look like, well, a pile a random things. Like I said I can wait to make the other 2, its just the small one at under 75% to scale is what I really wanna at least get moving int he right direction.
I know this was kinda a long rant here, and I really don’t intend for this to come accost as a sob story. Thanks for reading.
