Has anyone attached an alice frame to the full size spirit?
There was a guy on Facebook who said it was easy enough to zip-tie it using the strap holes. I’ve also heard that the mobo it comes with may be enough to mount it properly (I think it’s pressed wood, haven’t received mine yet). But what going with is one of these
I think Frankengeek Laboratories is working on a template and hardware kit to use the existing MDF Motherboard.
More than a few folks have already shared their progress in attaching an ALICE to the full sized Spirit. Personally, I have reservations about relying on the stock screws that hold the MDF motherboard to the pack with an ALICE frame that were designed only to hold the motherboard on…but for my purposes spending $100 on an aluminum frame seems like overkill also. Will probably do a hardboard motherboard with L-brackets fastened to the side of the pack for mine.
Redman Studio Workshop has an aluminum motherboards and mounting blocks as well as Alice frame hardware kits.
I got an overlay board for my Haslab pack from him and it looks awesome. Good stuff!
