Just realized I’ve posted in a few other topics and yet to introduce myself <.< How rude and disrespectful of me >.> Greetings from Hawaii all, happy to be here on the site/forum and stoked that Ghostbusters is still wowing fans and first timers alike after so many years. Happy 25th anniversary Ghostbusters and here’s to 25 more ![]()
Hey, welcome bud. Maui here, what island are you on?
Maui huh, wow. Oahu here =3 Glad to see I’m not one of the only members stuck on one of the Hawaiian rocks lol
There’s another Ghosthead on your island. His board name is hawaiiangb. He did an appearance with a few others at one of the GameStops up there. Once I get all my gear made, I’m hoping to do a meet up in Oahu, since it seems as if no one here is as into Ghostbusters.
One of the gamestops huh? Interesting, considering how many there are and how close think I would’ve seen or nocite that. Just as bad here though when it comes to a fan base, you either gotta be a kid from the 80s and loved the cartoons or really into the movies to even know about GB. Let’s just say for my case… I still have my official membership card in my wallet from buying almost every toy they sold as a kid =P
Aloha! ![]()
Aloha?
Please tell me we finally have a female Ghosthead in the islands!
Hola!. I mean. Aloha.
I’m not tellin’ haha. ![]()
Donde estas los pineapples? Oh shit.
Welcome to the site, your state is excellent!
Has it’s ups and downs lol Atleast there’s no way to get lost on an island, sooner or later you’ll be right back where you started from. Like drive’in in a big circle ^_^;
Says you, buddy! Having lived on Maui my whole life, I’ve never felt as lost as the first few times I drove on Oahu! I swear, to this day I still need GPS! =P
lol Ok, that’s actually true. Felt the same way going to the neighbor islands the first few times lol. Guess only the island your born and raised on makes it easier to know your way around and not get lost ^-^; Lucky your on Maui though, most of the cool movies are always filmed over there XD
Really??? I need to find out where this ■■■■ is happening!
Yeah, I keep reading on the net/newspapers and hear it all the time. Even Kauai has all kinds of movies. Jurrasic Park, George of the Jungle, King Kong, and even Lost XD Only thing I can think of tright off the top of my head was filmed here is like the old Hawaii 5O series and the Pearl Harbor movie <.<
Now when you say Aloha, are you saying Hello or Goodbye? Why do I see this turning into a Beatles song?
Lol don’t even make me bust out the karaoke machine and start singing Ron =P Then again I do see your point about the word “Aloha” Can’t be worst than “Mahalo” though and what some of the tourist think it means since it’s on all the trash cans<.< And I still don’t get that episode of Full House where they apperantly went to Hawaii and one of the "natives"said “Mele Kalikimaka” o.O Unless it was a Christmas episode or filmed in December that made no sense at all lol
I’m not exactly a fan of living here, however I cannot help but laugh at the general stupidity of people when I watch things like that. Full House, Saved By The Bell, etc.
One of the benefits of living here is having fun at the expense of said stupidity. I can’t begin to tell you the chatroom antics I’ve had over the years.
“You live in Hawaii? How are you online? I thought you guys didn’t have electricity?”
“Oh we don’t, my cousin’s on my bicycle right now, powering the generator. I gotta go though, he’s getting tired and it’s my turn to pedal.”
Seriously.
OMG I know the feeling lol Like come on people, use some sense ^^; Not like the Proffeser from Gilligan’s Island was the only one brains to set sail from this place ^^; Or the worst/funniest thing would be the way you type and talk to mainlanders. Like they think we’re no better than backward hicks half the time and using big words makes people doubt your actually from Hawaii to begin with. Just because I don’t talk like a surfer or use hawaiian words means i’m not local? Unreal =P But my best memory was at Universal Studios, waiting at one of the game stalls and busting out my kaki mochi (arare) Swear to god, the first thing the guy said was “Your from Hawaii right?” Lol I’m guessing not even the asians up there like that stuff as much as us down here in the islands =P I’m getting alil tempted to make a topic titled “You know your from Hawaii when…” =D

My fiance’s coworker has an aunty that worked for Hawaiian or Aloha…I forget which. Anyway, she was a flight attendant and when the passengers would deboard she’d stand by the exit, smiling, waving, and so sweetly saying, “Aloha, okole puka. Aloha, okole puka.”
Damn near lost it when I first heard that story.
