I was wondering if making an Aluminum mother board is worth it?? My Buddy works at a metal shop and he is going to make me a few .. He is also going to construct all the parts that he can out of Aluminum is that a good idea??? an all aluminum pack? sounds nice and its going to be easy to paint..is this good or bad???
p.s there are going to be wood and foam parts as well but i mean an all metal gear box and those parts??
It would be very cool! but hard to do! He would have to be very skilled. I think there is always call for aluminium parts here

He is beyond skilled ..His partner at work has been a metal worker for 30 + years and he is also going to help..im not looking to make any money from this i was just wondering if i should have him start to machine all the parts for me..im going to call him in the morning and have him start.. if its possible can you or some make a list of parts that would be easy to machine ..thanks
I suppose that depends on whether you mind if the pack flops around a bit or not. I made a temporary motherboard from wood, and it held up well enough for Halloween, but flopped around quite a bit when running.
im gong to go all aluminum ..its free so i can not complain

well folks parts are being made as we speak..as soon as i learn how to post pictures on here i will start showing progress..

good news i will have most of my parts wednesday and the process of building will start on thursday ..and i will work well into the friday morning ..Oh and my Brother is makeing a pack out if modeling clay then its going to be resin ..i will also post pics of that progress
