So I had a little situation with the last set of frames, but luckily I have extras and was able to quickly transfer all parts to the new frame.

A new detail locking plate was made for the updated lenses.

The battery compartment was cast from metal using the original part.

Hmmm… Just how fragile are those frames? I’m afraid that it’ll break the first time I drop them… hate to have that happen to something I spent $300 on…

If you by mistake drop a large piece of aluminum on these or even the original frames, you will break them no question about it.

It’s like any prop, if you drop them there is a possibility that it could break.

So I highly recomend that if you buy my goggles, PLEASE remember that I put MAD hours getting them to look like this. Do not drop them.

Understood, I just can’t help seeing many posts over the years of those frames in pieces… but of course, I’ve also seen posts on how to repair them, so they are salvageable at least… Your aluminum work is always top notch, though, would hate to even put a scratch on those!

How far away will the locking plate and the lenses by themselves be avaliable to ship?

Also can be buy a stand alone battery cover?

I’ve got a real set of frames with with battery cover still included, so I’d also like to get just the lenses and locking plates.

One thing though…Would it not have made more sense to make the frames out of fibreglass?

If it reduces your worry, the genuine frames are probably no less fragile than the resin replicas… a rather poor choice of material for something being used in military conditions.

I like to take a second to thank a couple of people that were partially responsible for this updated GB1 Ecto Goggles.

Note: This is not the final update for these Ecto goggles as I’ll be working on the radar box at a later time.

I don’t have a template for the padding as I had those made for my goggles. However, I’ll have more made fairly soon for anyone that might be need one.

In addition, I’m writing a code to update this (made out of aluminum).

And combine it with this…

Beautiful!!! I can’t wait to see what you do next for these!! Possibly a custom machined long battery cap for the gb2 model??
