Take a look:
20 Pin Card Edge Connector by AMP.
do we have a good source for them somewhere?
I haven’t found any in the surplus stores or other electronic stores I visited.. ![]()
I have them. I’m waiting on one more part for the trap and then I’ll release some things. A few more weeks.

Dude, Brock… you are definitely the man to see about a Ghost Trap! I’ll be hitting you up pretty soon- building 3 traps and 2 pedals so I’m gonna need some of the stuff you’ve got!

He was who I was going to suggest!
I found some online, but they arent the AMT brand. They look the same though.
Here’s the GB1 style, which I have:
It can always be painted black, if needed, to look like the GB2 style. More info when I get the final part(s) together.

I am kind of getting bothered how everyone I see markets their stuff as screen accurate. Yes, it may very well be. But for which film? Alot of the stuff I see is for GB2, which I dont want right now.
Thanks Phantom for clearing that up. I would have put the black on and thought it was right.
If you are still looking for thw cable, you can order them from Digikey. Incidentally, I openned the catologue randomly and it came to the right page.
It;s called a double ended socket assembly. I can’t remember exactly which one I ordered, but I think it was H3AAS-2036G-ND for about $4. It is of course 36 inches long, so you’d have to shorten the cable itself.
digikey is good, but you can search hours without finding something that you know they carry…
Thanks for the info.
Let me know if you end up with any extras… this is the 1 part I need to finish my trap pedal.
ok well what is the on the other end of the ribbon cable. Cause my 20 pin connector wont fit the sub connector. WTF?
the other end is just a regular IDE style connector glued (or affixed in some other fashion) to the d-sub hood. If memory serves I think you have to trim a little of the lip off or the d-sub hood.
You might have a different part than the one I have, but my 20 pin fits the D-Sub perfectly.
So you sayin just buy a 20 pin IDE connector and glue it to the sub body?
Im gonna check new egg, I dont know where else to get that.
For the GB2 pedal (as you’re referencing in the pic) I believe you want a card edge to socket cable. I can’t remember how many pins because I really just focus on GB1 props, 20 pin sounds familiar though.
Thats all I am building as well. The IDE 20 pin is 2 rows of 10 pins. Is that right? Post a pic of the GB1 pedal if you have it.
That would be great, as I found one only last week in my spares bin!
I tough it could make a good “replacement” part, guess its more then a replacement part ![]()
does it still go in a DB9 hood on one side, or if I use it I better change? I haven’t gotten much GB1 trap pedal info to compare to. In fact, I din’t find much pedal info at all. Seems like most people makes the trap pedalless.
