Anything paranormal ever happen to you?

All of us here love getting in our gear and going out and busting ghosts (even though it’s only pretending :wink: ) but it got me to thinking, has anyone in the community had paranormal experiences? Anybody think they’ve seen a real ghost, had a session with an ouijii board, deja vu, out of body experiences or anything else that lacks explaination? Here’s mine to get the ball rolling;

This happened many years ago, I must’ve been about 7 years old, and my dad had put me to bed, with the landing light on and my door ajar. I could still hear my parents watching TV downstairs. I closed my eyes and I had a sensation of floating off my bed, still in a lying position, but lifting off my bed and up towards my ceiling light. I felt light as a feather and a feeling of happiness, excitement and also calm, it didn’t frighten me in the slightest. I turned and could still see myself lying in my bed, I remember floating through the door and i could see my dad coming up the stairs to see if I was sleeping. He walked under me and into my room. At that point I had a rushing sensation, I could feel myself being pulled back into my body, it felt like I was falling from a great height into myself, landing on my bed. I actually bounced as though I had been dropped, my dad asked “what happened are you ok?” I absolutely swear that this was real, I have read up on out of body experiences and other people’s accounts match what I had experienced.

I’ve also had numerous accounts of deja vu, usually it’ll be a vivid dream of something so mundane and boring, like being at work or walking the street, I’ll wake and feel “Why did i dream that” weeks later, I’ll see the exact same thing happen, even down to how I’ve moved my head, my eyes, where I was looking at what was happening in the background. It’s the strangest thing. If only I could target specific moments in time…say, saturday night when the lotto numbers are drawn…

So what have you experienced, if anything?

Only this one time I hooked myself up to an EKG, G.

I was actually grabbed by a ghost. to the point where you could see the indents of fingers on my clothes.

Ive seen a few things over the years which may or may not be paranormal but the one that i remember the most happened when i was around 7 or 8.

I was in my cousins house and we were sat on one of those tiny plastic chair and table sets playing with some of his toys in his room. there was quite a strong light shining on us from the bulb above us which cast our shadows on the door directly behind me.

Well we both get up and walk over to his toy chest to put his toys away before we go into the living room, we put away the toys and to go walk into the hall when my cousin’s face just drains of color, i turn around to see what he’s staring at only to see that my shadow is still sitting down as if i were still at the table, then the thing lifts its head as if its looking right at us.

As soon as that happened we ran out of the room screaming and into our parents in the living room.

It still creeps me out to think of the way that shadow moved.

Hmm that is odd, I’ve seen in science museums these screens that flash and capture your silloute on the back of it, maybe a similar thing happened in this situation? Although, it moving its head, yeah, that I can’t explain

I’ve seen all sorts of really strange things..

When I was about 6-7 years old, my grandparents were living out in the country and had a huuuuuuuhe forrest behind their place that I’d play in all the time with the neighbor’s kids. I got lost for a few hours, couldn’t find my way back. This was really, really, really huge. Easily a few thousand acres. After a few hours going around in circles, I saw this girl in a green dress a ways off from me, and she didn’t answer or seem to notice me when I called to her, so I started walking towards her, and she kept walking away from me, always just a turn away so that I could just catch a glimpse of where she was going. Eventually I ended up in this clearing in the woods that had a huge pile of dead branches in the middle, and she was standing on top of it. Waved at me, and then kinda just sank down into the branches. Right then is when I heard my mother calling for me, her and my grandparents had been looking for me for a few hours.

Another time, I was playing with some kids from the neighborhood in the woods, and we were in some kind of clearing that had a bunch of ferns growing, and just one spot where there were none. We were in the spot where there were none, and all heard a noise from one end of the clearing, so we turned and looked. It looked like some animal was running towards us FAST, the ferns just moving and parting really fast and headed straight for us, and we started freaking out. As soon as it got to the place where it would have been out in the clear area where we were, the ferns parted, but nothing came out. Then, right behind us, the ferns started parting and going away from us, like if some invisible animal had just run in a straight line through.

When I was 16-17 we were at a friend’s place and decided to ■■■■ around with a ouija board in his basement. Started talking to a “spirit” and asking things about it. At one point we got ■■■■■■ when it wasn’t answering things, so we asked it what it wanted. The plate thing went to the middle and started turning around in circles. Like, in place and rotating, and none of us could really keep our hands on it (we were 4) so we lifted our hands, and I shit you not, it kept turning in place. It started turning really fast, then stopped, pointing at me, and came flying through the air towards me, but as soon as it reached where the edge of the board was it just dropped like a dead weight. The lights died, and there was a loud bang noise right behind one of the girls and she started screaming and freaking out. The lights came back on, and the cupboard that was behind her was smashed open (it was locked and the lock was broken, the whole thing looking like it was kicked out from the inside, doors off the hinges) and all the contents, which were my friend’s mother’s collection of clown dolls, were all over the room.

Freaked us the ■■■■ out, so we went upstairs and said “■■■■ this, we’re not cleaning up shit untill it’s daytime!” and went to my friend’s room to watch TV. Opened the door, and his ALF stuffed animal was tied up with a noose made from a phone cord around his neck, and the cord was jammed up into a hole in the ceiling.

At that point we were just “GTFO and chill in the park for 9 hours until sunrise” time!

The next day we obviously went back and cleaned up the shit so his parent’s wouldn’t freak too much when they got home. Went up to his room, and I was the only one tall enough to reach the hanging ALF and take him down while standing on a chair (had ceilings that were easily 15 feet high) but the phone cord was “stuck” in this tiny hole just the width of the plug. It just wouldn’t come out of the hole. We left it there, and explained the whole thing to his parents, who thought we were crazy and on drugs, until they tried pulling out the cord, and no one could get the thing out. Dad said ■■■■ it, took a ladder and a hammer and busted a hole in the ceiling to see what was holding it in place. Turns out the cord had been knotted and tied around one of the support beams IN THE CEILING.

They stopped thinking our story was so funny then.

A few years ago, there’s was an abandoned church in the area I lived, and me and a couple of friends keep going there to explore. (one video here!)

So we’re in the church the first time, 4 people, and we split off into 2 groups. In the “main” church room, me and my friend Dave hear what sounds like the doors on one side having someone try to force them open by ramming their shoulder into them (a pair of double doors)

So me and Dave were a little freaked, but figured it was Ben and his gf that were trying to scare us, so we snuck around to find them and scare them, and couldn’t find anyone. After a couple of minutes we find them in the complete opposite end of the church, and there’s no way they could have gotten past us without making noise or be seen.

The second time was me and Ben, walking around, we both heard the same thing, like someone violently shaking the doors trying to get into the room (the doors were inside, the doors to the outside would have been impossible to even budge, they’re all screwed in super-tightly)

So we both quickly head in opposite directions to get to the other side of where we heard the noise, him with a crowbar and me with an extendible baton, and once again we meet up and haven’t seen or heard anyone come around, and there was absolutely no way that anyone was quiet enough to slip by us without making any noise, or without using flashlights that we could spot them with.

A third time, coming out of that place, me and a friend saw an old woman walk past us and towards the church, and when we turned around, she was nowhere to be seen.

I also got a picture in there where another friend had taken off a shield/crest thing from the wall to clean/hang in his living room, and there’s a bright ball of light/orb in the picture.. now I know, I’ve seen tons of orbs (and taken a ton of them) in pictures and videos from that church, and 99.9% of the time it’s really just dust that’s reflecting the flash (That’s why you’ll never see orbs in pictures taken without a flash), but this one looks like it’s got teeth and eyes on it! I don’t know if this counts as "paranormal’, but I experience deja vu almost daily, usually multiple times throughout the day.

freaks me out a little bit.

You never play with a Ouija board, in fact it’s not meant to be " played " with. That is some serious s**t for summoning spirits. That board opens doors that aren’t supposed to be opened. You never know what kind of spirit will come out of it. No matter what you think, something will bad intentions will almost always be talking to you.

I don’t remember much, and I try not to, but when I was 9 or 10, I went to my mom’s friends house. It was just my mom and a few of her friends hanging out, talking and such. The kids (including me) were in one of the rooms playing and watching TV. In that room, in the corner, there is a panel on the ceiling that leads to the attic. Well, one of the older girls decided to hop on the bed and reach up and see what’s up there.

After about 10 mins up there, she comes down with a old wood box. When we opened the box, there was something that looked like a game board, which we thought it was. It said, in 1800’s style font, " The magical talking board, fun for all ages!!". I instantly knew that was an Ouija board. I saw one in a movie I had watched about a week prior and it scared the f**k out of me.

So after being called a scaredy cat and all the other usual comments, I went to the other side of the house near my mom. She set me up in the living room watching Ghostbusters ( Joking, it was Toy Story ). And one kid told me to come back because they figured out how to use the board. When I walked in the room, they asked for a name, it spelled out M-A-X.

Well it seemed “Max” was a very angry soul. A book on the table started floating, pictures on the wall fell off, and a glass of water started to boil and eventually shattered; it was on a desk.

After that, we all screamed and ran out to our parents, who heard nothing. It turns out that the board came from the previous owners of the house, who still had some of their stuff locked away in the attic.

Interesting stories… I have trouble believing the Ouija board stuff, as its a toy marketed towards children, so yea… That, and comments like “You never know what kind of spirit will come out of it. No matter what you think, something will bad intentions will almost always be talking to you.” There’s no way of knowing that it will almost always be a spirit with “bad intentions”. Sorry, but a toy marketed by Milton Bradley doesn’t open up doors to evil spirits to boil water on a desk and things like that. Not going to believe that ever.

That said, I definitely have experienced deja vu, fairly often, like some of you have talked about. Its kinda weird, but its happened so often that now its just like “Oh, here it comes again, I know what’s gonna happen.”

Fine, you have your opinion, but don’t attack mine. Ouija boards have been in use for a very long time and have a long history of strange occurrences and happenings. Sure, a good harmless spirit, who for some reason hasn’t moved on, nor wants to, communicates with a bunch of kids telling jokes and sharing names. But when you do something the spirit doesn’t like or doesn’t want you to do, it’s not so nice anymore. I have heard countless stories, heard recordings, and seen videos of Ouija sessions. And in all of them, you hear the cries and snarls of demons.

Yes, Ouija boards are sold by Milton Bradley, Parker Bros., etc. However, they are derived and refined from something else. I have never heard from anyone, that they used an Ouija board and nothing bad came from it. It was a toy that was refined in the 1850’s to be sold and marketed. Yes, it’s sold very well, I doubt however that the CEO’s of Parker Bros. sit down and use it from time to time for fun.

THIS IS NOT A TOY

Outside of your belief and experience, the Ouija board has been used for many years - safely - by those who ‘claim’ to be experienced in speaking with spirits. Of course, what parent would actually buy the above TOY is another matter.

I have used a Ouija board - my family has used the Ouija board - without incident. From my experiences it has been those dis-respectful to what the intent of the Ouija board was/is when “something” bad has happened.

I’m not attacking your opinion. I’m saying you can’t say “You never know what kind of spirit will come out of it. No matter what you think, something will bad intentions will almost always be talking to you.”

Its a contradictory statement. In the first half of the statement you say you can’t know what kind of spirit will come out of it, but then in the second part you say no matter what it will be something with bad intentions.

If you say the stories you’ve heard are 100% terrible and involve screaming demons, then you either haven’t spoken to enough people, or you’re lying, pretty much. Plenty of people have used these toys without incident, myself included. You may have plenty of friends that believe they have experienced some demon or something, but if you say that 100% of the people you’ve talked to have, then you haven’t talked to enough people.

And saying that the CEO’s of Parker Brothers don’t play with the Ouija boards has nothing to do with it. I doubt the CEO’s of any toy company play with any toy on a regular basis. That doesn’t mean those toys are dangerous and can open up a world of spirits.

Well the only supernatural weird thing to happen to me was when myself & a small group of friends decided to have a go on one of the aforementioned ouija boards, lets just say the experience put me right off using one ever again!!

Definately not recommended to mess around with because the spirit we contacted warned us away to stop us messing further, if we did not stop something bad would happen to us that day…now being a group of 13-15 year old lads we didnt know exactly what we was doing so we carried on for a buzz or whatever you might like to call it

I cant quite remember what happened to my mates that day but i do remember 2 things that nearly happened to me, firstly i very nearly got run down by a speeding motorist & after that a pane of glass fell from an above window where i was standing, thankfully one of my mates saw this before i did & shoved me well clear

In a nutshell i would say ouija boards arent something to mess with, if you do use one make sure its with someone proffesional who knows what they are doing, my experiences scared the ■■■■ out of me if im honest & i havent touched one since that day which is now around 15/16 years ago

I will tell you more about my experience Bob wobbaz (Luke) when i next see you. hopefully soon mate

I used to work at a haunted amusement park (just quit last week) and the place is haunted by a woman in white whom ive never seen… UNTIL, one night i was walking to my car and I saw this person in all white, slowly walking in the middle of the parking lot. I figured it was one of the clean up crew supervisors cuz they wear white shirts… so i figured Id drive by and say bye. Well as I was approaching the person with my car, I saw the they were just standing there, not moving. I was going to hit them with my car if they didnt move so I turned my high beams on the person so they’d move…and as soon as I did that… The person disappeared into thin air. It was so creepy… I got goose bumps and felt so creeped out.

For people that don’t know me I am a Paranormal Investigator here on Long Island with over 6 years exp. I am currently a member of the Long Island Paranormal Investigators, but have been a member of New England Paranormal when I lived in Mass.

Just to clarify, The Ouija boards are not evil! Parker brothers is not evil (in a paranormal sense:) ) but if you are using a ouija board you are essentially opening yourself up to you don’t know what to take over your body and move the piece. It is all a matter of mind set. I never recommend a ouija board because you don’t know what you are letting inside you.

Just need to be very careful, whether you use a Ouija board or not never have the mind set to let anything in your body funny or not, I know of an exp with a client that used a ouija board and ever since has had things following her from house to house. Just be careful.

Yes, you are correct, I did right a contradictory statement. I should’ve corrected that by rephrasing it differently.

All I’m saying is that me and other people I’ve talked about the subject with, have had bad experiences. Perhaps I haven’t talked to enough people ( if 30 something isn’t enough), but I still am against it because I know of nothing beneficial that could come from using it.

The family home in Rhode Island had a ghost; she was a young woman in a black Victorian-style gown. The original property was a farm, and our house sat on what used to be a mill pond (explained why the basement flooded every year) and stables. I wasn’t able to do any in-depth investigating before the house was sold, but I do remember the first time I saw her. I was up in the attic looking for something (I think I was about 8 at the time), sense someone up there with me…my reaction was to wave and say hi  Later I find out that my mom and grandmother had seen her as well at vastly different times and all our descriptions matched.

A number of years ago (I was about 10) we were taking the ferry back to the mainland from Nantucket. Sunny, warm, great forecast for the whole day…for some reason, I did not want to get on the boat. Extremely unusual for me. I couldn’t explain why, just didn’t want to go and didn’t want my parents to go either.

Time comes to board, we get a short ways out of the harbor and run smack into a hurricane. 30+ foot seas, insane winds, unbreakable windows breaking and everyone hysterical (except my stepfather who was up on the top deck watching birds). Life jackets were being passed out and abandoning ship was looking like a serious possibility when the captain by some stroke of crazy luck managed to turn around and limp back into port.

There was no indication of any bad weather on the forecast, and visibility was as good as it got on land. So how did I know? It might not actually be paranormal, but that’s the best explanation I’ve ever been able to come up with.

I’ve also had weird deja-vu like or intuitive flashes on occasion, as well as what I can only describe as astral projection (which I was not consciously trying to do).

We have an old (1908) Ouija board; never felt any interest in using it, and never felt anything unsettling about having it around.

Does anyone else find it interesting that ghosts are always “in all white” or “in Victorian clothes”?

Why aren’t there any ghosts dressed up in more modern clothes?

At least in my case, the property was quite old (the original farmhouse is still there), and maybe there weren’t any other deaths there since it became a housing development.

I’ve heard of/seen images of ghosts in newer military uniforms, but you’re right, most of the civilian sightings seem to be in “Victorian” dress. Our lady in black was definitely from that time period; could be that a lot of people don’t really know what constitutes Victorian clothing so that term is used for anything that isn’t obviously modern.
