Post your REAL paranormal experiences!

Just like the title says. After being inspired by other people commenting that they wish other people would share their stuff, I figured why not? I’m sure everyone here has been at least mildly inspired to conduct their own paranormal investigations thanks to the movies, so share and share alike! I’ll post my stories later…

‘i have have seen shit what will turn you white’

now non believers thats your problem dont post ’ rubbish’ and stuff.

But seriously i have seen stuff, and real stuff, i was only telling the guys the other day,

lets begin, .. a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away ( sorry couldnt resist)

my great grandma was said to have a 6th sense, reported seeing eyes and shapes in houses, which later turned out to be murder victims,

well it appears i have inherited her 6th sense,

ive seen countless things, not scary ghostbuster types ghosts, but full torso aparitions lol, which are so real, you wouldnt know they were a ghost,

ive been forsefully thrown outa bed, and no i didnt just full, it was over a meter, and i was awake.

im not gonna post all stuff ive seen, but if your interested pm me, or msn, id gladly sharre stories

the most recent sighting,

i do gardening, and i got a job, for a lady,

i was in the back garden, and i knew i reconised her last name, it turns out shes the mum of a friend i used to go to school with.

anyway after 2 visits, i knew this and i remembered teh son, and her daughter,

i saw the daughter in the front room, walking around, waved through the window at her and stuff. and carried on working

i do the ladys friend as well.

and the next i was doing her garden, when she came out and said, its traggic to hear about stuff liek that.

i didnt no what she ment, then she explained, the other ladys daughter was killed in a car crash a couple years ago.

that knocked me for six, becuase firstly i knew teh girl, and secondly i had no idea she had died, and teh fatc that i saw her walking around and waved at her,

believe it or not, thats no bullshit,

this was one of the main reasons ghostbusters appealed to me so much.

though i obviously believe in all this, mediums and physhics im very skeptic about.

Participating in this thread is likely to make me so angry that I lose vision in one or both of my eyes, so instead I will just say that, in my entire life, I have never experienced anything that could not be rationalized or explained by natural phenomena and move on.

Also, I’d like to refer you to www.randi.org

I’ve never seen a ghost, but EVP’s are real and we’ve captured them. Some say random stuff, others respond to you, like an evp I heard said “they can hear us”. so they are intelligent, and are aware of us.

Another kept saying “ribbit” like a frog and it didn’t make sense. Later we found out that Foos’s grandma had put some frog ornaments of some kind on her grandad’s gravestone.

We’ve had a few run-ins with her grandad. Like when a bouquet of flowers flew off a shelf on the 3 year anniversary of his passing..seriously this bouquet flew off, and landed 6-7 feet from the wall, it didn’t just fall down. this was witnessed by 3 people.

I used to not believe, but now I do. I think everyone should try doing evp recordings, you can usually get stuff anywhere.

I’ll just post what I posted in the other thread, since you are trying to make a stand alone paranormal experience thread.

From the other thread:

Still not sure if I fully believe in ghosts but that night I did.

I posted this on a paranormal website back in Jan when it happened,I was working Night Maintenance at Cracker Barrel when it happened.

*I work Night Maintainence at Cracker Barrel here in Gainesville,FL.At night myself and my co-worker are locked inside the building to clean the store and resturant. But on Monday’s and Tuesday’s I am all alone as it is his days off…er nights off.

He had not mentioned the building to be haunted because they have had other people quit over the ghosts. So I was alone on a Sunday night which was only my third night on the job,and I started hearing footsteps out in the dining room, followed by one of the chairs sliding across the floor.I walked out into the dining room and found one of the chairs pulled away from a table and slid it back. Then out of the corner of my eye I noticed something move in the retail area of the store,as I turned I saw an old man in period style clothing from the 1800’s,then he disappeared.

The next night I asked Tom my co-worker about it and he laughed and told me that he calls him Murphy.A month went by and I hadn’t seen nor heard anything, but I noticed a picture hanging above the mantle place of an old couple from the 1800’s and the man in the picture was Murphy. Then this past Monday something happened.

I was in the kitchen spraying the floors down,I had just started drying them off when I had hear footsteps followed by the jingles of keys.I called out my manager’s name that had just left thinking he had come back for something, well he didn’t answer so I walked out into the dining room to peep out of the window to see if I could see his car,but it wasn’t there. Then suddenly I felt someone tap me on the shoulder,I spun around and noone was there but a deathly cold feeling.

Then I heard footsteps in the retail area and I looked and could see Murphy walking into the dining room,as he got infront of the mantle place he disappeared.*

This isn’t the first encounter with the paranormal,I’ve had several before this one,but this is the one that stands out the most.

really? why would you get angry?

I’ve been through a few ordeals, not too sure if they’re paranormal or if they can be explained, but here goes.

When I was maybe 8 years old, I had an out of body experience. One second, I was plotting to play hide and seek with my older sister, the next second I was watching myself from somewhere by the ceiling fan and witnessed myself hide behind the entertainment center to count while she left the room to hide. It only lasted a few seconds and then it was almost like zooming in on a camera until I was just sorta back in my own head.

About four years ago, some friends of mine and I went to some woods near a park that one of us assured the rest was haunted. He said his sister and her friends had tried to do witchcraft out there and something didn’t go well. Myself, being the skeptic, brought a flashlight and a knife in case of crackheads (not a good town) and drove three friends to these woods. We wandered around on the walking trails for an hour and came to a nice little pond with a log nearby to sit on. Jane, the one girl with us, sat on the log while the rest of us stood around and cracked jokes until dark. As soon as it got dark, however, Jane started complaining that there was something sticky on her hands. I shined the flashlight on her hands and her palms were covered in blood. No bullshit, blood. I checked the log she was sitting on thinking she had put her hand in something smeared on it. Dry as a bone. We cleaned her hands off, calmed her down, and set off towards the car. We walked for about two hours as all paths somehow managed to lead us back to the communications tower at the top of the hill. Everytime we ended up back at a familiar intersection, we’d mark the path and take a different direction, but still ended up in the same place. Randomly, Jane’s hands would appear covered in blood again, and sometimes on her neck and chest. Getting fed up with the walking in circles, we jumped a few fences and crossed somebody’s land to make our way back to the road and walk down the road to where we left my car. Her hands and chest continued to randomly “ooze” blood even as we sat at an Ihop a few miles from the park.

I assumed it was just some kind of allergic reaction, but it makes a pretty weird story I guess.

Great idea for a thread.

I’ve had some experiences that were pretty strange, but I still remain skeptical of everything “paranormal.” Back when I was in high school my best friend Don and I were BIG into paranormal investigation and “ghost hunting” long before it was popular on SciFi. We really didn’t do TOO much investigating, though. We made a trip to a cemetery and the site of a burned down house. The cemetery turned up nothing, but we had an interesting experience atthe site of the burned down home. We didn’t see anything unusual… it was more of a “feeling” that we had when walking on the property. On our way to the property we were nervous because it was night time and we were kind of trespassing through people’s properties to get to this place… and the place itself was private property so we were worried about getting busted while we were looking around. Once we arrived there, however; the feeling changed almost as soon as we stepped foot on the property. It felt as though we were inside a bubble and it was the most comforting feeling. It felt as though we were welcome at that property. It was very strange to be so nervous and worried and suddenly be filled with such comfort. This is not necessarily “paranormal” but i felt it was very strange.

Years ago my uncle and his wife lived nearby and my mom, sister & I would go every friday to visit them and our cousin who is a couple years younger than i am. My cousin was kind of a rebellious kid and she did a lot of ouija board/seance (sp?!) type stuff when her parents weren’t home. Her mother (my aunt at the time) was a strong believer in spirits and not playing games with spirit related things (like the ouija) because it could have strong consequences… and once she found out her daughter was doing those things in the house she was convinced there was some kind of evil presence. I found this all out after I saw something that scared the shit out of me. They lived in a two-story 4-plex apartment. 2 apartments on the bottom floor, two above. They were friends with the upstairs neighbors for a long time so sometimes when we’d go over there either the neighbors would come down or everyone else would go upstairs. Me… being the video game nerd… chose to stay in the apartment by myself one night to play my uncles NES while everyone else went upstairs to visit the neighbors. As i sat there I heard a creaking noise and a bump like a door being slowly opened and bumped into a wall behind it… So i turned to my left where my aunt & uncle’s bedroom door was and i saw a skeleton head peering out of the doorway. It was completely translucent and had a very evil apperance… It had these awful eyes that I can still see in my mind and STILL give me chills when i think about it. Needless to say I did not stick around to strike up a conversation with it… i quickly rushed out the door and watched this thing as it watched me leave. As i was about to run out the door I got brave… figuring it wasn’t going to follow me since i was already almost gone… and i yelled “F**k you!” and quickly bolted out the door. LOL

The house I am currently living in was previously owned by a very nice elderly couple. I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting the husband because he had passed away shortly before we moved in… which was the reason for the wife wanting to move out of the house. My sister has heard a male voice in the garage say “hello” to her, and I’ve seen something strange in my room. One night i was laying in bed and I was unable to sleep… being curious about the paranormal and communicating with whoever/whatever it is that creates these paranormal disturbances… I often tried speaking to these … “things” (for lack of a better word) … But only in my mind… I didn’t want people hearing me speaking to these things that may or may not even exist. While i laid there in bed i began feeling as if i wasn’t by myself … so I began trying to “talk” to whoever/whatever may or may not have been in my room with me. I began asking it questions and I started seeing images in my mind depending on the questions… like someone/something was showing me something as the answer to my question. So i finally got to the point where i asked the person/thing to show itself … and right before my eyes this… object… manifested at the end of my bed. It did not have a human form… it was kind of oval shaped. About 4 or 5 feet tall. It had a kind of “watery” appearance to it… almost like a large oval shaped mirror but it was made of water. The best way i can think to describe it is it was kind of like the water creature from the movie “The Abyss” but rather than it being a long “worm” of water… it was simply a flat oval and it did not have a face.

I’ve seen other strange things, but I still remain skeptical as human perception is easily influenced by many things. For example, some people think that being in a place with high concentrations of EMF (electromagnetic fields) it can give one the feeling that you’re not alone… or other feelings that are associated with “paranormal” experiences. So the things I see and experience I take with a grain of salt… at least until i see something that there is no possible explanation for aside from it being a paranormal event.

Keep the stories rolling, though! I love the paranormal and I’d love to hear everyone else’s experiences.

Pulled from my thread.

my family and myself have experienced some stuff in our house. Some history about the house, if you don’t mind.

The whole town was pretty much a huge farm. Before then it was indian territory. back in the 40s or 50s my house was built. The guy who built the house lived in it for about 20 - 30 years (died in the 70s) and died in the house. He had also built the neighboring house for his sister, who had also died in that house.

Now, across the street is a Civil War graveyard. Gus, the builder/owner/dead guy worked as a grounds keeper there and, well, stole some gravestones to support the downspout of the gutters for my house. 15 years ago, we had a slew of bad rains. The graveyard is on a hill and over time the side of the hill has erroded and an arm had rolled down into the street.

ok, history lesson over. story time.

  1. When I was growing up, like many of you, I had a nightlight. I’d see shadows and stuff and just convince myself that I was just imagining things. One night, and I remember this clearly because it was the last night I ever turned on the nightlight, something kept flickering the nightlight. like, someone waving their hand over it. I flipped on the light to my room and unplugged the night light, then went downstairs to sleep on the couch.

  2. a few years ago, I’m watching TV in the living room. for some reason I turn around and see… something. looked like a gray, wispy silhouette moving past the divider we have between the two rooms. at the end of the divider is a pillar. I watch this thing move from one end of the divider, to the pillar, expecting it to reappear past the pillar and it never does. I literally turned white and left the house for a few hours.

  3. My dad and old neighbor have heard footsteps from the second floor/attic when no one else is home. My dad has also seen his own version of the Gray Lady in our dinning room twice. (literally, that’s what he called it. said it looked a lot like the librarian from GB1, just less detailed). He said it was floating closer to the ceiling than the floor.

  4. shortly after my father’s mom died, we had a gust of air travel from the second floor down into the kitchen. Every door that was open slammed shut and latched shut. Two of those doors are near IMPOSSIBLE to get it to close correctly. This happened a few years ago in the fall, so we didn’t have any windows open, and the AC was shut off.

  5. this is a fun one. two years ago, I bought an EMF meter for kicks. Anyway, we had a power failure and I knew that it’d be a while until the power would come back on. So, genius me, I go through my house waving this thing around trying to pick up SOMETHING. I wind up in the dinning room. After my grandmother passed away, we had set up a little marble table with some pictures of her and my grandfather and their favorite clock. As I get closer to the table, the needle starts twitching. I get right on top of the thing and the needle is resting perfecting where it should during a paranormal event… between 2 and 2.5. I freak out and hang out at my friend’s place for a little while. We’re not done yet. My parents come home, ask where I’m at and why… I tell them and my dad starts laughing and tells me to come home. Turns out that not only did I have the meter set wrong… I was reading the capacitor from the central air compressor that was on the other side of the wall where the table was.

when I was a kid, I kept being woken up from sleep and there would be no one there. I swear it felt like a hand was touching me, or pulling back the covers. Sometimes the touching was light, almost as if being caressed, other times it was heavy. Years later I found out that it was just my uncle sneaking in to try to molest me.

Was he ever successful?

Years ago my mom was very depressed and stuff and she was trying to vaccum the living room but at the time, we had the worlds crappiest vaccum. so she had to move a table an put the vacumm in standing mode while it was still running and we she turned to get the vaccum had started down the hall and she said the handle was sitting at a angle as if someone was holding and pushing it down the hall.

All this seemed to happen after the passing of my grandfather and my mom was supper depressed by it cause he blamed her for putting him in a nursing home cause we couldnt take care of him at the time cause of our jobs.

One night she was laying in bed and she hollered for me an dad to come to her room and when we got there we heard a song playing from somewhere. and we looked around an realized it was coming from the radio alarm clock next to my dad side of the bed. Now this radio on the clock has never played we never could get it to ever come on. but that night it was so dad walked over and turn up the volume and it was playing “im so lonesome I could cry” and mom started crying and dad asked her whats wrong and she said that was the song her dad always made her play every night before bed three or four times. his favorite song. dad never could get it to turn off until he pulled the plug on it. Very strange.

Pfft. Joe Nickell would break Randi in half.

To be fair, we can’t know which advocate for science would prevail in the face of alleged supernatural activity without doing the minimal research. Hence, I propose an

AGING SKEPTIC CAGEMATCH!!!

:angryvigo: :vinzclortho: :boogieman: In my past experience, I’ve been known to walk into a room where a person has died and I feel the prickle on the back of my neck, as if I sensed a presence behind me, but no one is there.

Another story is there is a room ina hospital where Mom’s husband had died. Everytime you walk into that room, there is a chill in the air. Not of the hospital air, which is cold to prevent the breeding of germs and bacteria, but the chill of death itself. And it’s the only room which is icy.

Let me preface this story by saying I don’t really believe in ghosts; I’ve worked late at my college which use to be a tuberculosis sanatorium where hundreds if not thousands of people died at and I didn’t see a thing, but sometimes shit happens and you’re hard pressed for an explanation.

When I was 10 I had an older cousin, Eddie, in his 20’s who lived with his girl friend in an apartment building a little less than a mile away from my home. As it seems to be with most kids named Eddie, he was always getting into trouble and had a nasty drug habit. If Eddie ever came around when it was dark outside he would always try to, and sometimes successfully, scare me by knocking on my bedroom window. Around midnight one weekend my whole family is in my parents’ room watching television, I am the only one who is fully awake and I am sitting in a recliner right next to a large window. I am fairly certain the blinds were closed, but it was dark outside so I couldn’t see out anyway, but suddenly someone starts to knock on the glass and I am startled. It wakes my parents, but my dad says to us that whoever it is can wait till the morning.

The next morning we are getting ready to go to a movie but before we leave my dad wants to find out who came by the night before. He said only a few people he knew would knock on the window late at night like that, one of them being my cousin Eddie. He is making his calls, and when he is on the line with my cousin’s girl friend I hear my dad say something like “HE’S WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE’S DEAD?”, and my dad hangs up and tells me to watch my brother and goes out the door and drives off to head to Eddie’s apartment building. Eddie had overdosed and died at some point in the night. His girlfriend insisted that he was asleep earlier than the knocking occurred, and that he never woke up from the point he first laid down. No one came forward admitting the knocks.

Sure it can be explained in non-paranormal ways; maybe Eddie’s girlfriend was wrong, maybe whoever knocked didn’t want to admit to it after finding out Eddie had died, or, in what may be equally or more so creepy than a ghost knocking on our windows, some stranger just walked up and decided to screw around with us, but this is one of those stories I’ve held on to for the past 16 years, and it’s good to know that I wasn’t the only one who experienced it.

From all the stories I’ve heard, I have reason to believe in ghosts.

I love Ghostbusters, i have a proton pack and love the props, but i have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the paranormal or supernatural.

i have never seen or experienced anything that i couldnt explain.

I am a true believer even though I do remember a experience I was about 12 or 13 around the time.I was a deep sleep and I do remember hearing these voice echoing through my head which I couldn;t make out what they were saying. Then I felt this pressing sensation on my chest and I could hear my heart rate just drop for a few seconds as I felt something was walking on my stomach and I could hear these grumbling noises. Once it was over I locked up and I didn’t see anything there.

Now when it comes to the unexplained events, like the Mothman,Bigfoot and etc. I do thinking that they are things that do go around our “basic” line of sight, but I would like to see it to believe it.

Never had a single one that couldn’t be explained. It was all some Scooby Doo crap, creaky doors, bad fixtures on picture frames, all that rot.
