Again, you’re so full of it. The discussion from the other thread was about building a pack for under a hundred dollars. Which is still not possible. Regardless of MDF, I believe some other users stepped in and proved that point.
How this has anything to do with my pack being composed of items I found “in my mom’s knicker’s drawer.” And again, you didn’t build your pack for under a hundred dollars, you made it for under 100 pounds, that’s roughly 200 american dollars, which can totally be done.
I didn’t reply simply because, honestly, because sometimes I “don’t want to honor you with my time.”
The fact remains you “defended” yourself by attacking someones props with arrogant and snide remarks. The fact remains that you are a part of the problem because of those remarks.
When I went to the midnight showing of GB1 here in dallas on 1/30, I was the only 1, besides the guy in the store bought costume, that didnt have a “shell pack”. But hey, I didnt feel my pack wasn’t as good as theirs! I love the fact that I broke the GBFans “Pack Building Speed Record” with my 3 day foamcore pack. and hey, IT LOOKS GREAT!\
hugs his pack, and breaks it in half
Ummm..I need to fix that…
Well…I went to a costume/cosplay event at a mall about a week ago. A Mall Rent-a-cop came up to me and said he had reports that people thought there was a bomber in the mall. “Something about a guy dressed in a black jumpsuit, strange goggles, and a ■■■■■■■■■ thing with wires and warning labels all over it.”
Good thing he figured out what I was once he got close.
Things over here are twice the price of there anyway… So that statement is rendered useless. Also… for £100 I could make 10 packs.
Because I know how to… Not the fact that I give up when I think it looks alright.
If I was a problem and was offending people with things I’d said then the mods would contact me accordingly. Until then, what you have to say means nothing to me…
I wouldn’t say anything out of line to anyone who doesn’t deserve it… But if you attack me I’m not just gonna sit here and take it
I love to watch a flame war between two winers more than the next guy, but do you guy think you can take it to PMs and not hijack a thread with the back and forth bitching?
i made my proton pack out of rubbish and scrap i had, i dont think its that bad, i know some measuremnts are wrong thats because i dint know about this site, untill halfway through the build. ive literally scrath built evrything apart from the alice pack.
in my opinion because i only spent £40 on it, including alice pack, im generally pleased with wat ive made with so little.
but when i see other peoples packs where they have bought a flawless vac or fibre glass shell, and got all proper parts for it, i think mine looks a little ■■■■ lol, but it doesnt dishearten me, as lawence said ive added to it and adjusted bits when i have the time.
oh and im hoping to buy a light kit, so that will be the 2nd thing ive bought for it.
why, i dont know what you could possibly be talking about. most of those people are f–k heads anyways. there are very few in the community that i think could “talk shit” and get away with it. people like pjv, who scratch built one of the most accurate packs i have ever seen; an lets not forget people like v71 and volguus who have made our propping world what it is today. but its these people who give the most encouragement.
i’ll admit, i have seen some pretty bad looking packs, but just cause i think it looks like a from hell in MY opinion doesnt mean I have to rip it apart or the person made it.
there are a lot of people on this board who need to grow up… but i do have to say i havent noticed much of this ripping on people lately… or maybe i just havent ventured into the threads were its been going on. i dunno
With regards to that I think this forum is one of the nicest and most welcoming places I have come across. I’m sure we all know how cliquey and secretive a lot of places similar to this can be.
I don’t see any reason why people should be insecure about their props. If you want to, show it off! If you’re worried what people will think then maybe you should try and take some pride in what you do and give as good as you get.
I’m glad it means nothing. So I can keep replying and you wont say anything back now, right?
Regardless you continue to make up excuses and skirt the issue, YOU are at fault for making snide comments about a pack, mine or not. HOw awful is it that the only you can defend your “honor” (or whatever you have) is to attack someone’s props.
Honestly, you’re like a child who gets into a fight only to recant with, “I have this action figure but you don’t.” Only to turn around and try to encourage the same person, “I hate what you have and it looks awful even though it has nothing to do with what we’re talking about, but hey if you try real hard you can have what I have.”
You’re arrogance is unbelievable.
And no I wont bring it to PM, because in all respects has to do with the topic at hand. Don’t like it, I promise you, you don’t have to read it.
I’m being arrogant?? Lets break this down in its simplest form… You say something “cant be done” I reply to say “Yes it can” you reply to that saying “no it cant” I reply to THAT saying “yes it can, and I’ve done it 7 times” and you STILL cannot accept the fact that I have accomplished what you said was impossible…
Again, derailing the topic at hand about what you said. This isn’t about how much it takes to make a pack, it’s about snide remarks and attacks members have made on props. To which you are guilty of. Feel free to ressurect the other thread and I will gladly discuss it there.
If anyone here is worried about what people will think when showing off something they have made then grow some ■■■■■ and be proud of your work. Any criticisms can be turned into constructive ones.
Well for one a solution of “grow some ■■■■■” isn’t a solution
Two, not everyone is scared of posting but finds it pointless when they try to think outside the box and are shunned for it. They will just take it to their events, turn heads there and laugh at your snobby ass.
Third…please try and explain to me who “Its shit” can be made constructive. Go ahead
So you don’t think people should be proud of what they make? If you’re happy with something and it looks the way you want it to then don’t put it up and say “How can I make it better” say it like it is and be happy with what you have accomplished.
I’m sorry… What?
Assuming you meant “how” instead of “who” I would say… You don’t need to make it constructive, I don’t know any members here that would say that outright without anything ‘personal’ happening beforehand, with said criticism being said in retaliation. Also I’m pretty sure any member who said something that bluntly would be issued with a board warning.
Personally I’d take a look at what they have made and be the judge of whether they are in any position to give me any kind of criticism, be it in the derogatory sense.
Anyhow… if this did happen and you wanted to be a boyscout over it a simple reply of “What do you think is ‘shit’ about it and what would make it better?” If that’s how you want to deal with it rather than stand up for yourself then so be it.
It’s to the point where you have so little basis for your arguments that it’s become a comedy.
If you can’t point out where in another thread I attack you beyond saying you can’t make something under a certain price then go for it. But from where I stand you attacked and degraded someone’s prop because thier opinion didn’t match yours.
Congratulations, again, I feel very bad that you represent the Ghostbusters Fans in the UK.
