a few years ago I picked up one of those great cyclotron/powercell light kits (exoray maybe?) but its been in storage off and on since I last used it - unfortunately I didnt take the batteries out last time and they started to decay in the plastic compartment - I believe it takes 6 D batteries, and I tried finding a replacement online and at my local radioshack with no luck… does anyone know where I can pick up a new one? (the wires are fine, just the actual housing unit is cruddy) should I contact exoray (and if so, does anyone know how?)
Exoray’s kits take (6) C size batteries. You can ask him about one but it might be easier just to google “6 C battery holder” and you should find what you need. Here is a link:

I can help you out, but you might just try giving the thing a good bath and scrub in a water and baking soda mix, followed by a clean water rinse and dry… Unless the batteries actually ate through something this might very well fix it up good enough to work…

I would try cleaning it, but since I took the melted batteries out (this was 2-3 months ago) Ive since misplaced the battery unit (maybe have thrown it out depending on how much damage there was) - so I may have to get a new one afterall, if you prefer I could get one from the site hooker posted…
Most of the ones on that site have solder lug connections, not an issue if you want to solder a wire on, but if you still have my wire with the 9volt snaps on it, it would be easier to just get one with snaps on it… They have a (6) AA size pack on that site that has the snaps and will work just fine for the pack lights, but run time will be significantly shorter if it’s powering my gun kit…
i only have the kit for the pack - but im sure between now and next fall i’ll be looking to buy the gun light kit as well
Hey Flynn, where do you get a 6 C Cell Battery holder with a 9v connection? I’ve been searching, but can’t find one on the internet. I’ve lost the one from your kit and have been using 1 9v battery for your pack kit and 1 9v for your wand kit. And does the 1 holder run both kits, or do I have to buy 2 of them?
since we are talking about exoray’s light kit here…I have a question…Can you use a 9 volt battery instead of the 6 “C” sized batteries, since there is a 9volt battery connector…If the answer is yes, is there a difference in how long the lights last as compared to using the “C” batteries…Because…man 6 batteries sure are heavier than a 9 volt…and i have 2 “C” batteries already in my wand…thanks.
Yes, you can use a 9v battery, that’s currently what I’m using for both kits, but I am not sure about run times. I would like to know this as well. Thanks
Run times on the pack won’t be too bad, the gun kit will show a much more drastic difference…
Just a guess but with a 9 volt maybe 1-2 hours for the gun kit and 8-12 for the pack kit…
I’ll get into more details later I’m off to bed now long weekend…
