So quick propping question - saw putty and bondo at Home Depot the other day and was wondering if there was a substantial difference if I used one over the other for your proton pack build? Pros Cons? The price difference isn’t terribly much so just wanted to get an opinion from some of the experienced Ghostheads here before I go in one way and should have done the other.
I’ve used bondo in the past and was going to try this putty on what will be a mostly cardboard build of my pack.
With bondo you got to work quick. When I first worked on my back I got a bumper that required some touch ups. I tried bondo and while it was a awesome, very solid material it didn’t leave me a big window to manipulate.
Putty, depending on the type will give you a little wiggle room to shape. If you go the putty route make sure you read every type. Different putty have different set times. I found it great for fake welds. Some people use Apoxy sculpt. While I have never used it in told it have a 24 cure time which would be very beneficial.
Hope this helps.
Apoxy sculpt is also nice if you don’t wanna deal with the smell of Bondo, which I don’t. Bondo, however works better for filling in small cracks and gaps.
