This is something that irked me for a while but is there a reason as to why Venkman is the only Ghostbuster not to wear the boots? Perhaps something Bill Murray was unwilling to wear or just something that the writers felt would better suit his character? He does stand out and is the most humorous of the Ghostbusters, so perhaps that’s the reason Thoughts?
He does wear them; it’s just that he doesn’t have his suit tucked into his boots like the others have…
I figured…but they just look different. They just don’t look like boots to me.
Venkman is wearing the same 10" Carolina jump boots (w/ brass zippers) as his fellow busters.
Peter is lazy and Murray probably thought up the idea of having his uniform reflect that. The photo of him used on the GB1 theatrical poster, which was also used on the '99 GB2 DVD (albeit a different pose), shows him with his pant legs tucked into his boots.
I figured as much. Well, in the end I guess he IS a scientist. It doesn’t mean he can’t be just as laid back or chill as your average Joe. Good point. He certainly is the more laid back and out of place Ghostbuster compared to Ray and Egon. The reason I don’t mention Zeddemore is because he just needed work and a steady pay check.
