Brother Tut Bar's 2 year pain in the arse build

Hi dudes, thought i would finaly get round to putting a bit of a thread up for my pack, which is nearly done apart from the thrower, lights, sounds, bumper, new shock mount…

It all started many moons ago (2010 actually) made a pack when i was 11 and now i wanted to have a big boys toy

i was going to make it from card and foam board/core, so here’s how it went down in a story of still life…

it started with ■■■■ roll tubes and just got worse…






the spacer was too big and it bothered me for a while, sleepless nights and stuff lol.



i didnt have cash for a real light kit so i was going to improvise with using a glow stick in the powercell and i made it so i could access it.

then i moved on the the thrower.




all made from foam core and wood for the handles.


the grips i made from foam/spunge sanding blocks


so then i went on to spray her black




access to the cyclotron lights

then i made a shockingly heavy bumper from card and bondo, and it must have taken 2 days to sand that bitch




then it was time to make “Baby” look pretty i must admit i had grown to have a lot of love for her by now, but she needed to loose som weight from the bottom end (spacer) lol









then basically Baby was ready to meet the public, and that she did (no pic from the kids party sorry)

so that was Baby MK1, after a few months of being quite happy to put her on display in my man cave (but never being fully happy) i ripped her down and stripped her, i know, thats a bit harsh but…

i was much happier with the new size and shape, i just didn’t know if i could be bothered to do it all over again?..

turns out i could be bothered

s this time iv painted her in resin and sanded what i could and filled with bondo

waiting to dry

sticking the cycloton on

primer time

finished!

phase 2 making new bits and trying to find the right tubing (impossible by the way in the uk without ordering on line)

then made her shiney and pretty

most parts from Nick-A-Tron (he’s awsome)

then Baby started to look like a pack

a bit of a before middle and after thing

so thats it 2 years and thats all i have to show for it :sigh: never mind Phase 2 next, the thrower and lights (bumper is coming this week thanks Nick )

Is that a jt94 cyclotron? Really impressed with the fiberglassing technique. May have to eventually give that a go myself.

it is indeed one of JT’s a bit small but i like it, it gives her character i think
