HA! … I’ve actually been wanting the life-size Marilyn Monroe poster/cardboard stand-up thing for my office… the pig thing is great, though.
But… I saw a poster of Lucy Lawless… and.. (Sniff Sniff) I was just so… So Happy!!! (Sobs) :eyeroll:

If it was a real pig, everyone would have noticed it, because a pig wouldn’t appear in a film unless it was supposed to be there for all to see - this is about seeing overlooked details, like the re-occurring extras, the set wall cracking, William Atherton nearly cracking up at Bill Murray, the production station wagon appearing in multiple shots. It’s about perception - the sets are fantastic and in this case feels like a basement lab office. The pig blended in perfectly. Only, once you see it, you’ll always see it.
I’m sorry it was only “neat” Mar - I didn’t say it was going to be a mind-blowing experience.

saying that, people aren’t looking for a poster of a pig, but for a pig. not seeing a pig when there’s none isn’t strange. Not seeing a poster of a pig in a movie where there’s no pig whatsoever is a totally different story.

If you want to be totally sarcastic, go for it, but the wall was a “revealing mistake”, the pig poster is still not a pig and your reference to a pig is still wrong, as there are tons of other decoration things in there. Its not anything weird to see a pig poster in a lab. Seeing a mickey mouse would be a lot more “neat” to use your words, or “mind blowing”… Hell, I’m more impressed by the marilyn monroe poster.

This is a bigger deal than it needs to be - I’ve seen the pig, it’s always amused me, I made an offhand comment. I go back to work, and reading the thread later, find out everyone wants to know what I meant. So, I pointed it out.

…and yes, i agree… once the blu-ray hits, we’re going to be noticing ALLLLL kinds of little things. i’m wondering if the degree on the wall in the screencap above was created by the art dept. for one of the characters, or just random set dressing picked up at columbia.
Just wondering.. any specific scenes I can scan to, in order to see re-occuring extras or say the production station wagon in another shot? You don’t have to screengrab, but I’ve seen the first one beyond more times than I can count and I guess I just don’t notice things like that.
It’s been an interesting progression over the years, as we moved from video to DVD to Blu-Ray. Stuff like Louis’ graduation photo just wasn’t easy to see until recently (or if you saw it on the big screen.)
You’ll want to have a look at this website - he’s covered most of the errors and quirks in the movie.
Be warned - once you’ve seen them, you can’t unsee them, the next time you watch the movie. 
YES. You’re absolutely right. They played it on the big screen here back in February and I noticed it for the first time. I noticed a lot of stuff I hadn’t before. I was dying when I saw the grad pic.

I think maybe the “suspense” (if that’s the right word) was building up and then when it was “revealed” that THE PIG was just a poster of a pig, it was kind of a let down. Still, I think it’s kinda funny.
One of my favorite oops things is actually from Independence Day when David is drunk and he kicks around stuff and ends up knocking down a trash can, maybe he throws it, anyway…the bottom of the trash can says “ART DEPT.” in ■■■■■■■■■ marker! lol I love it! Area 51 would not have an Art Department! :lol:
I made that same suggestion and apologized for it already - I posted what was supposed to be an off-handed remark, and then I returned to the day job for a couple of days before checking back on the thread. By that point, you’d think I’d said you could see God standing in the background.

I’m really, really hoping the Blu-Ray brings out a lot of details - it’s a very detailed movie.
Is their school lab at the university? I always thought it was like the library basement and was a set in LA - I never really thought about it much before.
There was a movie I saw the other day where you could see the trailer park for the shooting in the distance - that would cracked me up. What movie was it!? Argh, stupid brain.
Yeah, the lab/office was shot at Columbia Univ. I can’t remember where i read it, but it was something like they had only a few days to get the Columbia Univ. scenes in the can… the interiors were reserved as rainy day shoots.
yeah ain’t no reason to get huffy and puffy… the pig thing was something nice to laugh about… many can use a laugh…
I mean I am sure Bill Murray would have something interesting to say about the pig… If it wasn’t for that really distracting Twinky thing.
