Finished building my first prop today.
The addiction has started…
Wow that looks really good. Very nice work.
Nice job with the assembly, fantastic skills, but I think your color is kinda off… yours is a little too green…
Ah your right. The more I look at it, it looks more like an olive green, or even more on the gray side.
Does anyone know what color that is?
I might repaint it at some point.
Although I am planing on making another one.
Here’s my 302, but about the same color… It’s kind of a gray, but with a slight shade of green somewhere in there…
I will have to look around for that grayish green color. I will let you guys know if I find anything.
The next one I might try to do a little bit more detail too. This being my first one, I didn’t want to risk mangling it too much, because I wanted at least one functional one I could use.
I was thinking of taking my dremel tool and notching out those screw holes up by the handle. Looks like it goes back about a quarter inch, and then the corner is ground off at that angle.
The put that little trench all the way around it right below the lable. Also the allen screws that hold it together.
Also could try to put those little notches in that guard the silver knob on the front.
Thanks for your guys input too.
Anything I can learn helps me build a better prop next time around if nothing else.
Not bad! Been a while since I’ve seen someone scratch build one of these.
Great looking prop. Well done!
