So since Comic Con is getting closer, I was wondering what everyone thinks the big announcement is? We have heard rumors of a possible 3rd movie done by computers, we’ve heard more new information about the game coming out. I was wondering though what do you think the big announcement is? For me I am hoping some new GB figures , possible new toy line.
how about a ghostbusterscon for the film’s 25th anniversary?

The community already tried to have a Ghostbusters convention and it failed, it was a pretty abysmal failure at that.
Honestly I think we already know what the big announcment is, and I think that’s the release of the blue-ray versions of the films.
Though, if I got to dream it would be a new Animated seriese, and not a movie. Ever.

I like the name BusterCon myself. A couple of us talked with Ernie last year at San Diego about trying to organize a con. His recommendation to try to get Dan to show up would be to incorporate panels on real paranormal investigations. Trying to get a convention set up to be completely by itself outside of another convention would be very hard.
having real paranormal pannels in addition to ghostbusters pannels would be totally awesome.
if the announcement is the movies coming out on blu-ray im gonna be annoyed…im not expecting a new movie or anything like that, but if they are making a big deal out of something as simple as the movies on blu-ray i doubt im gonna be the only person annoyed

Blu-Ray release announcement = Too much build up for nothing.
Look at when any other film converts to Blu Ray. Theres no big to-do really. Maybe a commercial or ad in the Best Buy flyer, but thats usually it. I agree. If they announce that as the big news, I will also be disappointed.
What really makes me chuckle about this post is that people actually expect Sony and Comubia TriStar to come through with something big. How many times have we been let down by this corporation in regards to Ghostbusters? I mean yeah, it’s fun to dream and if it’s some thing cooler than a new disk I’ll be the first in line to pick it up, but I doubt it.
I love Ghostbusters, but I got used to being happy with what we have a long time ago.
If it has deleted scenes and more features that have been so seriously lacked on one of the greatest franchises of all time then I’d be happy about Blu-Ray

WTF are you talking about? Ghostbusters 2 has been lacking, but the first film’s DVD is one of the most feature packed in the history of DVD.
Honestly, I’m just as excited about the Blu Ray release as I would be a new TV show, cartoon, CGI DVD movie, etc. I’ve heard some good things about the content being produced for the BR.
Get your head out of the negatively charged slime and cheer up a bit… why does there have to be a constant influx of new products for people to enjoy a 25 year old comedy? Then again, I’m one of teh fans that couldn’t care less about the cartoon or new comics, etc.
There was a lot of great content on the DVD… but a LOT left out. Hopefully that will be corrected with the BR.
